Knowledge of laboratory test methods, specimen requirements, test limitations, test interpretations sufficient to perform tests accurately and to recognize and analyze problems effectively.
Skill in operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting laboratory instruments.
Skill in performing manual and automated test procedures.
Skill in computer keyboard data entry/retrieval.
Skill in the recognition and analysis of problems in laboratory test performance, calibration and QC.
Skill in establishing and maintaining cooperative working relationships with coworkers.
Skill in phlebotomy.
Language Skills Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:
General knowledge of diagnostic nuclear medicine principles, procedures, views, and equipment, including some experience responding to traumas and various hospital emergencies.
Capable of performing routine nuclear medicine examinations as well as a basic understanding of human anatomy, physiology, pathology, and medical terminology.
Possess written and verbal communications skills to explain sensitive information clearly and professionally to diverse audiences, including non-medical people.
Well-developed time management and organizational skills, including the ability to prioritize assignments and work within standardized operating procedures and scientific methods to achieve objectives and meet deadlines.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Performs laboratory procedures following clearly prescribed standard operating procedures and established departmental policies and practices.
Receives patient specimens and correlates information with the patient specimen and patient history file for proper patient identification.
Verifies sample information and acceptability upon receipt. Performs routine clinical and microscopic test slides from tissue specimens as directed.
In Blood Bank, processes all donor units received. Assists in the preparation of freshly frozen plasma, platelets, cryoprecipitate, and dispenses for transfusion. Utilizes effective sterile technique when processing, to avoid contamination.
Operates mechanical and/or semi-automated equipment when required, participates in QC procedures and equipment maintenance.
Assists in maintaining laboratory readiness, may include cleaning, preparing work area and instruments and stocking supplies.
Answers telephone, may provide specimen request status and/or test results as allowed or directed to nursing units and physicians.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Completion of Associates degree in a lab science such as chemical, physical, biological, clinical laboratory science, medical technology or closely related field or equivalent education and experience as defined by CLIA standards.
CREDENTIALS:
National certification by ASCP or equivalent in any of the offered categories such as Medical Laboratory Science/Technician, Medical Technology, Microbiology, Chemistry, Hematology, or any other recognized categorical certifications.

Demonstrates the ability to perform and accurately document all procedures related to critical values, technical limit failures and QA activities. - Ensures safety and compliance: Patients are accurately identified using two appropriate patient identifiers prior to sample collection. Patient samples are accurately labeled and identified throughout the testing process from sample collection through testing and storage. Misidentified samples are identified and responded to appropriately, notifying all appropriate staff. Results are reported for the correct specimen. Protects self, coworkers and facility by following approved policies and procedures to prevent the spread of blood borne and/or airborne diseases. Job Summary:
As a Clinical Scientist Assistant II, you will serve as a senior scientific and operational leader within Dr. William Heerman’s research program. In this role, you’ll provide scientific oversight and administrative leadership across multiple federally funded and foundation-supported studies focused on pediatric obesity prevention, physical activity, nutrition, and community-based health interventions.
Working independently with general guidance from the Principal Investigator, you’ll use advanced scientific knowledge and judgment to help drive the success of the research portfolio. You will oversee key components of the program, including research implementation, regulatory compliance, personnel supervision, grant development, dissemination of findings, and coordination of center-level activities.
You’ll also function in a chief-of-staff–type capacity for the laboratory—helping ensure that scientific priorities and day-to-day operations stay aligned. This includes supporting strong execution across projects, maintaining high staff performance, and promoting effective stakeholder and community partner engagement.
In addition, you will supervise research personnel, coordinate work across investigators and community partners, and play a substantial role in producing manuscripts, grant proposals, and scientific presentations that advance the impact of the program.
Schedule and location: You will generally work a traditional daytime schedule Monday through Friday. Flexibility is key, however, as occasional inquiries may need your attention during evenings and weekends. Your office will be located at 2146 Belcourt Ave., Nashville, TN, with the option to work remotely from home a couple of days per week.
Required qualifications: You will need a Ph.D. and at least three years of relevant experience, along with the advanced scientific expertise necessary to support the expanding scope and complexity of this research program.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Scientific Oversight and Research Operations
- Provide scientific and operational oversight for multiple ongoing research projects and clinical studies.
- Direct implementation of funded research protocols, ensuring adherence to study milestones, timelines, and deliverables.
- Oversee regulatory activities, including IRB submissions, protocol modifications, reporting requirements, and compliance with institutional and sponsor regulations.
- Monitor study recruitment, participant retention, data collection quality, and project performance metrics.
- Coordinate activities among investigators, collaborators, and research staff to ensure successful completion of funded research objectives.
2. Staff Management and Program Leadership
- Provide direct supervision, mentoring, and performance management for research coordinators, research assistants, and other laboratory personnel.
- Develop staffing plans and assign responsibilities across projects to maximize efficiency and productivity.
- Lead regular project and personnel meetings and establish operational priorities for the research program.
- Support hiring, onboarding, training, and professional development of research staff.

3. Grant and Manuscript Development
- Contribute substantively to the preparation of grant applications, progress reports, and competitive renewals.
- Assist investigators with study design, literature reviews, data interpretation, and development of research plans.
- Lead and support preparation of scientific manuscripts, abstracts, presentations, and dissemination products.
- Coordinate responses to sponsor requests and reporting requirements.
- Identify opportunities to enhance research productivity and support growth of the research portfolio.
4. WeGrowHealthy Center Coordination and Community Engagement
- Coordinate selected activities of the WeGrowHealthy Center and related collaborative initiatives.
- Facilitate engagement with community partners, advisory boards, and stakeholder groups.
- Support planning and execution of meetings, events, and center-wide initiatives.
- Assist with tracking center milestones, reporting requirements, and communication across participating organizations and investigators.

Ensures proper decontamination of surgical instruments, syringes, and equipment in order to clean, identify and inspect.

· Performs BowieDick and biological testing of all sterilizers in the department and operating room daily in accordance with manufacturer's recommendations.

Position Purpose:
The Floor Care Technician floor care work including routine mopping (dry and damp) buffing, waxing and burnishing all hard surfaces.
As a “Floor Care Technician” you will:
Provide floor maintenance, including but not limited to vacuuming, shampooing and extracting carpets, stairwells and upholstery.
Performs preventive maintenance checks on all equipment prior to use and at the end of shift.
Provides other cleaning services such as dusting, routine restroom, offices, halls and classrooms or other duties as assigned.
Follows all safety requirements and procedures at all times.
Maintains equipment, tools and storage areas in clean, orderly and good operating condition.
Respects Hospital and Company property.
Responds rapidly and thoroughly to emergencies, special needs, spills, etc.
Minimum Qualifications:
HS diploma or equivalency (preferred)
1 year experience (required)
2-4 years experience (preferred)

We are looking to hire an OB Surgical Technician. The Surgical Technician functions in the scrub role during intraoperative patient care, doing so as a delegated technical function under the direct supervision of the Registered Nurse. The provision of care is consistent through adherence to standards and support of the philosophies of Genesis Medical Center.

General Requirements:
- Graduate of an accredited school of surgical technology; completion of surgical tech apprenticeship or military program.
- CST certification preferred but not required in Iowa. CST certification is required within 18-months of hire if working in Illinois.
- No prior experience is required.
- BLS. Mandatory Reporter.
- Ability to work with diverse groups of people; ability to work under pressure and with a large degree of independence and accountability; and the ability to accept responsibility for the direction, control or planning of an activity.
- Adaptability to performing a variety of duties, often changing from one task to another without loss of efficiency or composure.

About the job:
Multi-skilled Technician under the supervision of an RN, performs basic patient care activities. Actively demonstrates the organization’s mission and core values and conducts oneself at all times in a manner consistent with these values. Knows and adheres to all laws and regulations pertaining to patient health, safety and medical information. (For patient care providers) Performs basic patient care activities as delegated and supervised by an RN, including taking blood glucose measurements, recording intake and output, assisting patients with personal care and activities of daily living including bathing, grooming, and eating. Performs ordered EKGs according to policy and per documented training and competency assessment. Performs Phlebotomy duties according to policy and per documented training and competency assessment. Assists with keeping patient rooms stocked, clean, and orderly. Attends required in-services, workshops, retreats, staff meetings. Participates in and fosters a performance improvement approach that includes both intradepartmental and interdepartmental activities. Performs other duties consistent with purpose of job as directed.
Education: The level of knowledge ordinarily acquired through the completion of high school level courses.
Ability to read, write, and spell English and perform simple arithmetic calculations.
Licensure:
• Successful completion of EKG and Phlebotomy course upon hire or transfer.
• Successful completion of the initial clinical competency requirements in order to perform independently.
• CPR certification on hire or able to attain within 60 days.
Experience: Previous patient care experience and/or technical education in health-related field preferred.

Records and/or enters laboratory computer results of tests performed and advises supervisor spurious, unusual or highly abnormal results before release of results for reporting.
Reports results of tests ordered stat and highly abnormal or unexpected results in a timely manner and according to established policies and procedures.
Compares test results with previous patient test results when indicated, calling attention of supervisor or pathologist to unusual fluctuations.
Performs required quality control and equipment maintenance and calibrates and operates laboratory equipment used in performance of the tests pertinent to the section) to which assigned.
Notifies appropriate personnel of problems such as unacceptable specimens, equipment malfunctions, and quality control aberrations, in accordance with department policy on procedure.
Prepares standards, reagents, and other materials used in testing.
Contacts nursing unit or client office personnel regarding results and for clarification of requests and other routine problems which may arise.
