*Advanced Medicine | Surgery | Emergency & ICU | Urgent Care*
*Catskill Veterinary Services — Rock Hill, NY*
*$30–$45+ per hour | Full-Time or Part-Time*
Come Practice the Kind of Veterinary Medicine You Became an LVT to Practice.
You worked hard for your license. *We want you to use it.*
Catskill Veterinary Services is looking for talented, motivated *Licensed Veterinary Technicians* who want to practice high-level medicine, continue developing their skills, and be part of something that is growing.
And we're about to take a very big step forward.
*On November 1, 2026, Catskill Veterinary Services is opening our new 15,000-square-foot veterinary medical center in Rock Hill, NY.*
This isn't simply a bigger building. It represents what we're working toward as an independently owned veterinary practice: bringing advanced diagnostics, surgery, emergency and critical care, internal medicine, dentistry, exotics, and increasingly sophisticated veterinary care to our region—while continuing to invest in the people who make that medicine possible.
A Different Approach to Recruiting—and Retaining—Great People
We want to be transparent from the beginning:
*We do not offer sign-on bonuses. That is intentional.*
We know that some veterinary hospitals are offering substantial signing bonuses to attract technicians. We have chosen a different approach.
We don't believe a one-time payment is what should convince someone to join a hospital—or what should make them stay.
*We would rather invest those resources into building a workplace worth staying for.*
That means competitive ongoing compensation, benefits, continuing education, professional development, modern equipment, advanced medical capabilities, opportunities for advancement, and investment in the team you will work alongside every day.
Catskill Veterinary Services is independently owned and operated. The veterinarians who own the practice work alongside our team, see patients, perform surgery, manage emergencies, and experience the same challenging days as everyone else.
We're investing heavily in our future—including our new hospital, advanced technology, education, training, leadership development, and expanded clinical capabilities.
*We want you to choose Catskill Veterinary Services because you believe in the medicine we're practicing, the team we're building, and where we're going together—not because of a check handed to you on your first day.*
If that philosophy resonates with you, keep reading.
Your License Should Mean Something Here.
Our LVTs are an integral part of the medical team—not simply an extra set of hands.
Depending on your experience and interests, you'll have opportunities to work with:
* Advanced anesthesia and multimodal patient monitoring
* Emergency and critical care patients
* ICU and hospitalized patient management
* Advanced surgical procedures
* Dentistry and dental imaging
* CT and advanced diagnostic imaging
* Fluid therapy and CRI management
* Venous access, blood collection, and laboratory diagnostics
* Urgent and emergency triage
* Exotic and nontraditional species
* Advanced medical cases and procedures
We want technicians who enjoy using their skills—and we want to help you develop the skills you haven't mastered yet.
*You don't need to know everything on day one. You need to want to keep learning.*
Our New Hospital — Opening November 1, 2026
You'll be joining our team at one of the most exciting points in our history as we transition into a purpose-built *15,000-square-foot veterinary medical center* featuring:
* Dedicated ICU and critical care areas
* Trauma and triage suite
* Multiple operating rooms
* Dedicated feline and exotic patient areas
* Advanced dentistry suite
* Internal medicine and advanced diagnostic capabilities
* *64-slice CT*
* Fluoroscopy and advanced imaging
* Expanded emergency and urgent care capabilities
* Significantly expanded treatment and hospitalization space
We're not simply looking for people to fill positions in a new building.
*We're looking for people who want to help us build the team that will define it.*
Who We're Looking For
You must hold an *active New York State LVT license*.
Beyond that, we're looking for people who:
* Take pride in practicing excellent medicine
* Want to continue developing clinically
* Communicate effectively with doctors, teammates, and clients
* Take ownership of their responsibilities
* Support the people working beside them
* Can adapt when medicine doesn't go according to plan
* Want to contribute ideas rather than simply follow a checklist
* Care deeply about the patient in front of them
Experience in *emergency medicine, ICU, anesthesia, surgery, dentistry, or advanced patient care* is highly valued.
Experience with exotics, equine, or farm animal medicine is also a plus.
But just as importantly, we're looking for the right mindset.
Compensation
*$30–$45+ per hour*
Compensation is based on experience, technical proficiency, clinical capabilities, leadership skills, and the responsibilities you are prepared to take on.
Highly experienced LVTs with advanced skills in areas such as *anesthesia, surgery, emergency medicine, ICU/critical care, dentistry, or specialty-level patient care may qualify for compensation above the listed range.*
We recognize that an experienced LVT brings tremendous value to a veterinary hospital, and compensation should reflect that value *every paycheck—not just when you sign your offer letter.*
Benefits & Support
Our benefits include:
* Health insurance with employer contribution
* 401(k) with employer match
* Paid time off and sick leave
* Paid holidays
* Continuing education support and CE allowance
* Professional license reimbursement
* Tuition reimbursement opportunities
* Employee pet care benefits
* Flexible scheduling options
* Uniform allowance
* Paid parental leave
* Employee Assistance Program (EAP)
* Employee referral bonuses
* Professional development and advancement opportunities
Grow With Us.
Catskill Veterinary Services has grown because we're willing to take on difficult cases, figure things out, support one another, and keep raising the standard of medicine we can provide.
Our core values are straightforward:
*We Figure It Out.*
*We Show Up.*
*We Own It.*
And ultimately:
*We Do More.*
You may already be an experienced emergency or surgical technician looking for your next challenge.
You may be an LVT who feels underutilized in your current hospital.
You may be looking for a hospital where you can grow into leadership or develop advanced technical skills.
Or you may simply want to work somewhere that reminds you why you became a veterinary technician in the first place.
*If you're proud of being an LVT and want to see just how far your skills can take you, we want to hear from you.*
Apply through Indeed and tell us a little about yourself.
*Come see what we're building—and meet the people we're building it with.*
*Catskill Veterinary Services, PLLC*

Lake Road Animal Hospital in Horseheads, NY is seeking a *Licensed *Veterinary Technician with a desire to work in a privately owned, general practice with a high standard of care. Our practice has five doctors (three are part time) and our appointment times are 30 to 40 minutes in length as desired by the veterinarian. We are a privately-held practice with no corporate pressure on our doctors to perform to a specified set of metrics. We work hard to control the pace daily to ensure that the TEAM is not feeling frazzled.
We are in need of a full-time LVT who has a strong interest in bonding with a practice, making a long-term commitment to further develop current and create new service areas. Have an interest in physical therapy, dentistry, preventative care, or reproduction? We want to help you expand that interest. Lake Road is extremely interested in an inspiring candidate who has a desire to expand the role of LVT within the profession. If the idea of a Veterinary Nurse designation excites you, you may just be the right person for our TEAM.
Our ideal candidate will be a self-motivated, flexible, upbeat, out-going person who enjoys educating clients and non-professional staff daily while improving the lives of each animal you treat. Our TEAM holds our core values in high regard and all decisions are guided by them. The successful candidate will show a high level of integrity and compassion, will hold a desire to build an environment of cooperation, strive for excellence in all tasks, and always work to serve the patients and clients of our practice to the best of their ability and without judgement. Positivity and the ability to remain steady and stable are highly valued.
Veterinary technicians are utilized to their full potential at Lake Road Animal Hospital. Strong technical skills (anesthesia, venipuncture, radiography, dentistry, etc.) are required to be successful. In addition, excellent communication skills must be possessed as LVTs are strong advocates for patient care and client education. Technicians at Lake Road Animal Hospital routinely work as a liaison between clients and veterinarians.
The ability to work efficiently within Cornerstone Practice Management Software is essential as we are a paper light practice. We have a full suite of Idexx laboratory equipment, digital radiography, ultrasound, digital dental radiography, and laser therapy.
We are proud to partner with VetBilling which allows the TEAM to focus on medicine rather than negotiating care recommendations with clients about money. We can find a path to payment with VetBilling in almost every case. Economic euthanasia will NOT be part of your life at Lake Road Animal Hospital. In addition, VetBilling has had a profound impact on increasing compliance of preventative care. Our patients are very likely to receive bi-annual dental care and be current on vaccinations.
This position will require availability (with variability) from as early at 7:30 AM to as late as 6:30 PM weekdays. We partner with Guardian Vets, so all after hour calls are triaged by that company. We provide no after hour call for clients. We hold appointments open daily to allow us to see urgent cases without adding hours to our workday. Our goal is to have everyone out the door at the time they are scheduled to leave. This position will see you scheduled 38 to 40 hours per week. This position will be a four day work week Monday through Thursday, generally 8 am to 6 pm.
Veterinary technicians at Lake Road Animal Hospital are compensated hourly based upon experience and skill level. We have a monthly bonus structure in place that since its inception has increased average LVT wage by $2,000 per year. Health insurance is available with the practice covering 75% of the premium for the employee. In addition, LVTs have an annual CE budget that also includes paid time off for CE. You will be a full member of the NYSVMS CE programs annually. Paid time off (vacation, sick, personal) begins accrual after two months of successful employment. We offer paid holidays, including your birthday! Retirement benefits in the form of a 401K with up to a 4% company match. We offer a pet care benefits program and a uniform allowance. We utilize an app called Bonusly that allows team mates to reward one another when “caught” going above and beyond. Those rewards can be cashed in for a wide variety of gift cards (Amazon, Target, Airbnb, Fandango, Apple, etc.), prepaid Visa or MasterCard, donations can be made with your rewards to a huge variety of organizations, and more. We have an Employee Assistance Program. You are expected to take lunch breaks and are encouraged to utilize all of your PTO each year! However; PTO never expires and can be rolled over year-to-year, especially if you have something special coming up and want some extra time off.
The leadership of Lake Road Animal Hospital is strongly committed to ensuring that your days are spent doing what you love, not dealing with drama. We have a created a culture of accountability and inclusion. Every member of the team brings something special to our team, and we encourage every member of the team to grow. Our practice is an active member of a Well Managed Practice Group. We work closely with the other member practices from across the country to ensure we are building and growing our practice from every angle. We have a financially healthy practice that does everything in our power to maintain the health of our TEAM, as without the TEAM the practice is nothing. Flexibility is extremely important, and we, too, will find ways to “make it work” for all of us. Everyone has a voice here.
To learn more about us visit our website _www.lakeroadanimalhospital.com_, and watch our recruitment video _https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KwLicHif\_sw_.
If you are interested in applying for this position, please forward your resume and cover letter to Carrie Bowgren, Practice Manager. *Please note, this opportunity is open ONLY to applicants who are licensed veterinary technicians (or are eligible for licensing) in New York State.* New graduates of veterinary technology programs are encouraged to apply, even if you have not yet applied for your license with NYS. No other applicants will be considered for this position. Please do not apply if you are in an on-line program, this position requires that you be able to step directly into this role with a complete education background.
