The Registered Med Tech/MLS performs testing in various departments of the clinical lab such as: Hematology, Chemistry, Microbiology and Transfusion and more. These scientists act as technical experts to clinical staff, co-workers, and other departments. Essential Functions:
- Performing Laboratory Tests: Conducting a variety of tests on blood, tissue, and other body fluids to help diagnose medical conditions.
- Analyzing Test Results: Interpreting and analyzing test results to provide accurate and reliable data for patient diagnosis and treatment.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in clinical laboratory/medical technology science or chemical, physical, biological, or equivalent. Education must be obtained through an accredited institution. Applicants with chemical, physical, biological science or equivalent bachelor’s degree will be subject to education verification which may include transcript/credit evaluation by Laboratory Services Quality Assurance leadership, Required.
- OR - Completion of course work and internship requirements in a qualified MLS program and eligibility to sit for the BOC. Certification must be completed and documented within 6 months of hire to remain in the registered MLS role, Required.
- Medical Technologist / Medical Lab Scientist ASCP certification or equivalent certification as approved by Manager and Human Resources. Certification must be maintained to remain in job, Required.
- Flexibility to work a variety of shifts that may include weekends, holidays, nights and on-call, Required.
- Montana applicants must have state licensure or temporary state licensure, Required.

Job Description:
The Behavioral Health Technician, under the direction of a registered nurse, licensed physician, or other specified healthcare professional, participates in patient care as a member of a coordinated multi-disciplinary treatment team. Essential Functions
- Assist patients with daily living tasks, performs, and accurately documents delegated patient care procedures, treatments, observations, groups/education, etc. and in a timely manner. May monitor patient vital signs and provide limited medical intervention under the directions of a healthcare professional
- Orients patients to the Behavioral Health unit or program, inventory belongings, may give appropriate supplies and testing, and may transport patients to appropriate appointments, units or activities.
- Demonstrate effective interpersonal relations and communication skills with co-workers, patients, families, and other personnel involved with patient care. Reports changes in the patient's condition to the applicable clinical staff. May assist in mentoring and orientation of staff members and students. Takes initiative to maintain the work environment and guide others to resolving problems/issues.
- Maintains a safe, consistent and supportive environment by providing care in accordance with the multidisciplinary treatment plan using established behavioral interventions and programs to meet patient care needs. Ensures that assigned areas are clean, straight and in compliance with fire and safety hazards before leaving at the end of each shift. Maintains constant surveillance of assigned areas to ensure patient safety including visual patient checks, room checks and unit checks. Will stock supplies and carry out general housekeeping tasks as assigned.

Job Description:
This position is a HSPA certified technician, responsible for ensuring that all basic surgical supplies, instruments and equipment are properly inventoried, decontaminated, assembled, inspected, packaged, sterilized, stored, distributed and tracked in a quality / timely manner throughout the hospital for basic procedures and 4+ surgical specialties including higher acuity procedures (i.e. Orthopedics, neuro, and Vascular). Are expected to be able to lead an assigned area (i.e. decontamination, prep and pack, sterilization, case carts, or the center core) when required. Work with medical equipment/instrumentation vendors to check-in, prepare, sterilize and check-out requested equipment/instrumentation. We will train and document the competencies to perform these duties independently and without close supervision. This position is expected to teach, train, orient and precept students and new SPD Techs. Will validate all the Sterile Processing proficiencies in our education system. Utilizes applications and technology to accurately facilitate record keeping in accordance with State and Federal regulations, promotes mission, vision, and values of Intermountain Health, and abides by service behavior standards, performs other duties as assigned. May be required to work overtime based on business need, may be required to float to other departments (within the scope of competency and qualifications) based on business need, may be required to be placed on-call based on business needs.
