This job maintains, operates, monitors, repairs all utilities and related central plant equipment and responds to maintenance requests for assistance to hospital, clinic and supporting facilities. Maintains central plant in good, clean working condition maintains preventative maintenance (P.M.), and schedules and completes corrective maintenance to all equipment in a timely and professional manner actively documenting all activities and maintenance.Shift Hours

Education
Required -High School diploma or equivalent
Preferred -Associates degreein Operating Engineering
Work Experience
Required -Experience with water treatment for heating and cooling systems in order to efficiently protect the water and steam piping and integrity. Experience using HVAC/Temperature controls, Energy Management Systems, Computer Operations in order to maintain proper building temperature comfort levels.
Certifications
Required -Current 2nd Class Engineers Certificate for Air Condition / Refrigeration - ONLY if working at a facility in Orleans Parish*
Preferred - Current 2nd Class Engineers Certificate for Boilers & Air Condition
Knowledge Skills and Abilities (KSAs)
Knowledge of Pneumatic tube system operation in order to repair and maintain associated equipment.
Basic math skills.
Ability to maintain a positive and professional demeanor under stressful conditions.
Good written and verbal communication skills.
Job Duties
Properly answers phone and resolves requests by using name and identifying department.
Completes preventive maintenance and work requests promptly by using proper work order form.
Monitors and operates power plant equipment by visually inspecting and adjusting equipment to achieve maximum efficiency.
Monitors, operates and troubleshoots engineering equipment and systems by following manufacturers’ recommended maintenance and operating parameters.
Operates, monitors and maintains Energy Management System by adjusting heating/cooling schedules as dictated by building loads.
Performs building rounds and equipment inspections by properly entering round sheet data and reporting problems to supervisor.
Performs other related duties as required.

Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.(Constantly: activity or condition exists 2/3 or more of the time) to move objects. Physical demand requirements are in excess of those for Sedentary Work. - Assists the physicians and registered nurses in providing technical care of the patients by performing phlebotomy, transporting patients to other departments, placing patient on cardiac and vital sign monitors, performs wound care, inserts Foley catheters, and obtains lab specimens. May perform IV starts if allowed by state regulations.
- Documents information/procedures and promptly communicates observations, concerns and needs of the patient to the registered nurse.
- Processes daily patient charges and/or related procedure through the Electronic Health record (EHR).
- Collaborates with physicians to support communications required to facilitate patient care. Coordinates and facilitates all forms of communications (phone, verbal, paging, electronic, fax, and EMS system).
- Maintains a clean and safe working environment, following department safety policies and standard precautions.
- Monitors equipment and troubleshoots minor problems. Arranges repair of major malfunctions.
- Performs various patient positioning and transporting duties, which require lifting and pushing/pulling, while utilizing proper technique.

- Scan patients properly, using correct selection of technical factors, fully understanding the physics of nuclear medicine in order to operate the equipment at its most optimal settings for quality procedures.
- 1)Perform Planar and SPECT Nuclear Medicine procedures utilizing single and dual detector Gamma cameras and properly position patients to obtain high quality images.
- 2)Carefully complete and obtain a thorough patient history and properly document all pertinent information on requisition
- 3)Accurately prepare and formulate all radiopharmaceuticals in accordance with package insert and Department policy
- 4)Prepares and administers radiopharmaceuticals and procedural adjunctive medication by proper route per clinician prescription and according to approved exam parameters. Competently performs venipuncture and placement of peripheral IV catheters for medication administration. Accesses other vascular access devices, as determined by department training and need. Follows correct procedures for handling radioactive materials. Understands and implements ALARA measures. Maintains accurate records of pharmaceutical doses.
- 5)Utilize proper sterile techniques in needle placement for the administration of radiopharmaceuticals
- 6)Routinely monitor storage area for disposal of radionuclides and maintain records for accountability.
- 7)Perform daily calibration and radiation safety checks on dose calibrator, survey meters, well and probe systems.
- 8) Maintain accurate records with regard to the receipt, transfer and disposal of radioactive material
- 9)Perform daily floods, bars, center of rotation and uniformity on Gamma cameras to ensure accurate imaging, patient safety and operating performance
- 10)Perform advanced computer manipulation assessment and analysis of data. K. Determine and select appropriate data filters, programs and protocols to provide desired information.
