Job Duties:
Performs and reports various analyses from multiple specimen sources. Performs duties to provide the highest level of patient care and maximize patient satisfaction. Meets the qualifications to provide care for patients in the specific age range on their assigned clinical area.
- Maintains an expected level of productivity.
- Manages multiple work processes efficiently.
- Completes tasks in a timely manner.
- Handles specimens properly.
- Confirms identification and specimen suitability.
- Uses appropriate accessioning procedures.
- Recognizes discrepancies on patient orders.
- Resolves and reports problems and solutions as appropriate.
- Performs and records instrument maintenance, troubleshooting, and quality control.
- Replenishes reagents and supplies according to established protocols.
- Follows established reporting procedures, computerized, verbal, and manual as appropriate.
- Navigates and accesses multiple computer applications as needed for job functionality.
- Assists in the training and orientation of new employees.
- Participates in educational activities to maintain current knowledge in the field.
- Successful completion of initial and subsequent competency exams required.

- Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited college/university AND successful completion of an ASCP/NAACLS-accredited Medical Technology/Medical Laboratory Science program OR;
- Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited college/university with a major in biological, chemical, physical or clinical laboratory science AND ASCP categorical certification OR;
- Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited college/university with a major in biological, chemical, physical, or clinical laboratory science AND at least two years' experience in a role equivalent to that of a Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) in a clinical laboratory

Responsible for preparing the sterile field for surgical operations including the setup of sterile instruments, assisting surgeons in gowning and gloving, and draping patients for surgery. Overview
The Freed-Pastor laboratory at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute is seeking an exceptionally motivated and experienced PhD-level scientist (Scientist II) to join Cancer Grand Challenges - Team ILLUMINE to investigate the Cancer Dark Proteome and drive the development of innovative cellular therapies for pancreatic cancer. This position is primarily a hands-on bench role focused on rigorous data generation and direct experimental execution. In addition to bench work, the ideal candidate will take ownership of essential laboratory operations and coordinate efforts across this multi-institutional team. The successful candidate will be integral to a multidisciplinary team focused on the discovery, preclinical evaluation, and advancement towards clinical trials of novel immunotherapies.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities

Performs premature baby testing at Rhode Island Hospital and /or Woman and Infants Hospital. Provides patient perpetration, including measuring of head and placement of electrodes. BASIC KNOWLEDGE:
Successful completion of post-high school program in a one or two year accredited program in EEG technology.
Eligibility to sit for written examination for formal registration by the American Board of Registration in Electroencephalographic Technology within three years of placement in position (1,000 EEG examinations are required).
Knowledge of EEG techniques, concepts and equipment. Ability to apply knowledge to clinical settings and expand upon it through experience. Knowledge of pathological disorders directly affecting brain and other medical conditions indirectly causing brain dysfunction.

Current working knowledge of discharge planning, Medicare, Medicaid and managed care reimbursement, as well as all rules and regulations governing Home Health

Performs duties in a manner to promote quality patient care and customer service/satisfaction, while promoting safety, cost efficiency, and a commitment to the CQI process

Principal Accountabilities
Collaborates and maintains active communication with physicians, nursing staff and other members of the multi-disciplinary care team, patients and their families, and other Home Health companies.
Proactively identifies and resolves delays and obstacles to discharges with ordered durable medical equipment.
Collaborates with the physician and all members of the multidisciplinary team to facilitate care for designated case load; monitors the patient’s progress to discharge, intervening as necessary and appropriate to ensure that the plan of care and services provided are patient focused, high quality, efficient, and cost effective.
Ensures that all elements critical to the plan of care have been communicated to the patient/family and members of the healthcare team and are documented as necessary to assure continuity of care.
Documents relevant Home Health durable medical equipment information in the medical record according to Department standards.
Collecting and/or informing Patients and families of all co-pays due. Processing all monies collected.
Demonstrates safe and proper use of all durable medical equipment issued to patients from consignment closet. Coordinating the delivery of all durable medical equipment to patient’s home.
Ensuring that the consignment closet is appropriately stocked.
Ensures safe care to patients, staff and visitors, adheres to all Memorial Hermann policies, procedures, and standards within budgetary specifications including time management, supply management, productivity and quality of service.
Promotes individual professional growth and development by meeting requirements for mandatory/continuing education and skills competency; supports department-based goals which contribute to the success of the organization; serves as preceptor, mentor and resource to less experienced staff.

Coordinates the work of others as assigned in a medical laboratory section. Works with considerable independence to perform and interpret various chemical, microscopic, and/or bacteriologic tests to aid in the diagnosis and treatment of patients. Is expert in the use of all equipment and procedures for an assigned area.Major Responsibilities:
- Interviews prospective candidates for positions in the laboratory and makes recommendation to Manager.
- Evaluates new hires performance and conducts performance reviews on employees assigned.
- Schedules employees for various lab benches and shifts; reviews all work performed in area to ensure completeness and quality and takes corrective action as necessary.
- Discusses performance issues with employees and recommends disciplinary action to Manager.
- Follows established protocols to perform an all kinds of tests, including the most complex for an assigned area. Provides guidance and consultation to Medical Technologist I’s and Medical Lab. Technicians in the interpretation of highly complex or unusual test results.
- Interprets and correlates clinical test results with patient history, diagnosis, and clinical condition to explain test results (normal/abnormal) so that appropriate action can be taken.
- Troubleshoots testing process discrepancies.
- Develops new test and quality procedures for assigned area.
- Ensures that test results meet requirements of the laboratory quality control program.
- Ensures preventative maintenance for equipment in assigned area. Performs complex troubleshooting, repair, and modification of a wide range of complex equipment and instrumentation.
- May assist in the roll-out of new equipment and equipment modifications.
- Instructs technicians and technologists in the set-up and operation of new equipment and procedures.
- Ensures compliance with all laboratory quality and safety policies.
- Instructs students in clinical laboratory operations and procedures.
- Maintains accurate records of tests performed, using computer-based systems.
