As a Registered EEG Technologist at Minnesota Epilepsy Group, you will play a crucial role in diagnosing and treating epilepsy by performing high-quality Electroencephalography (EEG) tests and providing ongoing monitoring of recordings. You will work closely with our epileptologist to monitor and record electrical brain activity, contributing to the accurate assessment and management of patients' conditions.
*Key Responsibilities:*
* Perform routine EEG, continuous video EEG for inpatients/outpatients following lab protocols effectively and independently
* Describe and answer patient and family questions about the basic processes of EEG hook-up ensuring patient safety and comfort throughout the process
* Calibrate, set up, and troubleshoot EEG equipment to guarantee accurate readings and optimal performance
* Monitor and record brain activity during various physiological states and recognize artifacts and interference during EEG recordings and make necessary adjustments to maintain data quality
* Monitor patients in the EMU, ICU, and other units, recognizing both normal and abnormal EEG patterns, as well as clinical correlations
* Conduct specialized procedure such as PET, MEG and ISAT
* Perform charge tech duties
* Communicate, collaborate with epileptologists and other healthcare professionals to ensure the accuracy and relevance of EEG data for diagnostic and treatment purposes
* Adhere to infection control and safety protocols, ensuring the cleanliness and sterility of equipment and the examination environment
* Stay updated on the latest EEG technology and techniques through continuous education and professional development
* Other duties as apparent or assigned including new equipment or procedures consistent with patient and technical care
*Licenses (Required):*
* Current certification as a Registered EEG Technologist (R.EEG T) through the ABRET
* BLS certification

* Proficiency in EEG equipment operation, electrode placement, and data interpretation

*Locums Therapy Medical Physicist*

*DESCRIPTION:*
This Position Description (PD) defines the program, training, and technical support services required for a board-certified therapeutic medical physicist (TMP). This is a locums position. The start date is targeted for September 2025 (a start in October is also a possibility). The work is on-site and in-person, and your presence in clinic is expected during normal business hours: 8: 00 AM - 4:30 PM, Monday though Friday.
The work site is at the Minneapolis VAMC. The clinic address is: 1 Veterans Dr, Minneapolis, MN 55417.
*POSITION DUTIES:*
The medical physicist shall perform weekly chart checks, plan approvals, QA checks, and IMRT. Work is located at the Minneapolis VAMC Clinic which hosts 2 TrueBeam Linacs, 2 physicists, 2 dosimetrists, 6 radiation therapists, 2 physicians, and 15 to 20 patients per day total (fairly low workload). The physicist may perform work after normal business hours to complete calibrations and measurements once patient treatments are finished.
The physicist must be board-certified in therapeutic medical physics by the American Board of Radiology (ABR) and must also have the following minimum years of experience on the following procedures, equipment, and software listed below under the “Relevant Experience” section.
*Relevant Experience:*
* Two (2) years experience in a Varian-based clinic (TrueBeam Linac).
* Two (2) years of experience: Documentation detailing experience in performing QA procedures.
* One (1) year of experience: Documentation detailing Therapeutic Medical Physics in a healthcare system that is ACR or ASTRO/APEX certified.
* One (1) year of experience: Brain Lab Accessories following standards of TG-142.
* One (1) year of experience: Image Guided Radiation Therapy (IGRT) including Cone Beam CT (following standards of TG-142).
* One (1) year of experience: Eclipse treatment planning system; and ARIA record & verify system, including the following treatment modalities: 2D/3DConformal, SRS, SRT, SBRT, and IMRT/VMAT (following standards of TG-53).
* One (1) year of experience: IMRT QA: MapCheck I/II (or equivalent).
* One (1) year of experience: Toshiba CT Simulator (or equivalent) and following standards of TG-66.
* One (1) year of experience (optional): Using Superficial X-ray Machine.
*Education and Certification:*
* Master's Degree or higher is required. PhD is preferred.
* Must be Board-Certified with at least two years of continuous working experience within the last three (3) years to ensure TMP’s experience is current and relevant.

* A background check is required and will be conducted as a part of the onboarding process.

About the job: Multi-skilled Technician under the supervision of an RN, performs basic patient care activities. $26.55 - $39.85Major Responsibilities:- Provides for a clean, safe and efficient area conducive to optimal patient care. Utilizes aseptic surgical techniques in the preparation of materials, supplies and equipment for surgical procedures (e.g., assistance with gowning and gloving; preparation and draping of the surgical area; provision of a sterile field, instruments, suture and related materials; anticipation of the Surgeons' needs; passing of instruments and/or supplies; holding of retractors, observing and reporting possible breaks in aseptic technique; and assisting in maintaining a sterile, dry, unobstructed field).
- Performs all types of procedures and maintains basic knowledge of a variety of procedures.
- Ensures the environmental disinfection, safety and efficiency of the operating room. This includes setting up the room for each case including moving equipment (i.e., tables, cameras, microscopes, fracture table, and instrument pans), operating the various types of equipment used during operating room procedures, and returning equipment post procedure.
- Functions as a Second Assistant as necessary.
- Notifies appropriate staff of equipment and supply problems.
- Transports patients and/or equipment and supplies.
- Maintains a specialty cart or item, ensuring its completeness and availability. This includes checking the working condition of equipment, sterility, and sending damaged items out for repair.
- Performs various patient positioning and transporting duties, which require lifting and pushing/pulling, while utilizing proper technique.
- Must be able to demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served. Must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and possess the ability to assess data reflective of the patient's status and interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patient's requirements relative to his/her age-specific needs, and to provide the care needed as described in the department's policies and procedures. Licensure, Registration, and/or Certification Required:
- Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA) needs to be obtained within 6 months unless department leader has determined it is not required.
Education Required:
- Completion of an accredited or approved program in Surgical Technology.

- Performs, evaluates, and monitors laboratory tests as authorized within established protocols, selecting and performing additional procedures when indicated. Monitors workflow and makes necessary adjustment to complete work in an appropriate time frame. Evaluates results for clinical significance, validity and appropriateness. Follows prescribed policy in the reporting and notification of test results.
- Performs and documents calibration, maintenance and repair of instruments and equipment. Recognizes indicators of test and/or instrument malfunction; evaluates and implements appropriate corrections.
- Performs, documents and reviews quality control and quality assurance for improvement according to established protocol. Evaluates quality control results and takes corrective action when indicated.
- Ascertains that specimens are properly labeled and suitable for testing. Collects specimens from newborn, pediatric, and adult patients according to established protocol.
- Provides general direction, training, competency review and technical l assistance to medical laboratory technicians, phlebotomists, and support staff. Assists in the development of education and training protocols; instructs students, residents and new team members as assigned.
- Assists in improving the quality and efficiency of laboratory procedures, policies, and processes. Ensures compliance with all accrediting agency standards, supporting CAP Regulatory requirements in an acute setting.
- Performs internal and external proficiency testing in the same manner as patient samples.
- Performs specialty testing in areas including transfusion services, microbiology, chemistry, hematology, histology, coagulation, and flow cytometry. Supports the disease specific accreditations of an institution by meeting turn- around time goals.
- Provides direct support and timely, accurate laboratory results for critical care departments such as the ED, ICU and OR during a high acuity patient event. This includes transfusion services, attending codes, performing testing on irretrievable samples, tissue grinding and gram stains, mass casualty procedures, and mass transfusion procedures.
- Must be able to demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served.

Specialist technologists analyzes blood, urine, and bone marrow and body fluid specimens in order to provide data that helps our physicians determine the best treatment for their patient. Automated and manual techniques are routinely used to properly evaluate samples in patients with a wide range of clinical conditions. Testing responsibilities include moderate and high complexity assays which are performed in compliance with accrediting organizations as well as departmental policies and procedures. The specialist technologist may be required to evaluate results, troubleshoot, and assist in developing new test methods. This position provides direct line supervision to professional and technical staff in the Stem Cell Processing Lab section. The specialist technologist coordinates and assists in teaching and training students and residents, as well as maintenance of the lab section's QA, regulatory compliance and standard operating procedures.
Education:
Bachelor's Degree in Medical Technology or a chemical, physical or biological science from an accredited university and meets other technologist qualifications.
Experience:
Minimum of eight (8) years of relevant laboratory tech and/or leadership experience.

Essential Functions:
1. Adheres to general hospital standards. Follows hospital policies and procedures. Follows departmental policies and procedures. Assumes responsibility for keeping informed about changes in policies and procedures.
2. Ensures accurate and timely performance of laboratory testing. Performs procedures as indicated in the procedure manual with minimal supervision and within the required turn-around time without compromising quality. Correctly collects, accessions and/or accurately labels specimens. Responds to STAT priority samples immediately. Demonstrates competency to perform all procedures accurately.
3. Ensures quality of laboratory testing. Follows QC procedures and evaluates QC prior to releasing patient result and dispensing of products. Records and reviews results for accuracy and before reporting in the LIS. Demonstrates the ability to perform and document accurately all procedures related to critical values, technical limit failures and QA activities. Demonstrates the ability to recognize a problem, seek advice if needed and resolve if possible.
4. Follows proper safety and identification procedures in all aspects of laboratory testing. Properly identifies patients prior to sample collection. Identifies specimens at the time of receipt and notifies coworkers and involved lab sections when misidentifications are encountered. Labels samples and reports in a legible manner throughout the testing process. Ensures that results are reported for the correct specimen. Demonstrates the ability to perform and document accurately all procedures related to blood product preparation, dispensing and labeling in compliance with GMP regulatory requirements and Blood Bank QA activities.
5. Improves work skills through self-study and continuing education. Information from written documents and other communications are reviewed and appropriately applied. Manuals and procedure bulletins are used as reference and learning tools. Available educational opportunities and materials are utilized to enhance professional development. In-house continuing education programs are attended. Minimum of 4 hours of continuing education/year are completed outside of annual in-service requirements.
6. Contributes to the smooth and efficient operation of the section and department. Able to handle multiple tasks at one time. Covers assigned work area and assists the team in covering other areas that need assistance. Answers the phone and follows through on all requests appropriately. Job Description:
This position is a HSPA certified technician, responsible for ensuring that all basic surgical supplies, instruments and equipment are properly inventoried, decontaminated, assembled, inspected, packaged, sterilized, stored, distributed and tracked in a quality / timely manner throughout the hospital for basic procedures and 4+ surgical specialties including higher acuity procedures (i.e. Orthopedics, neuro, and Vascular). Are expected to be able to lead an assigned area (i.e. decontamination, prep and pack, sterilization, case carts, or the center core) when required. Work with medical equipment/instrumentation vendors to check-in, prepare, sterilize and check-out requested equipment/instrumentation. We will train and document the competencies to perform these duties independently and without close supervision. This position is expected to teach, train, orient and precept students and new SPD Techs. Will validate all the Sterile Processing proficiencies in our education system. Utilizes applications and technology to accurately facilitate record keeping in accordance with State and Federal regulations, promotes mission, vision, and values of Intermountain Health, and abides by service behavior standards, performs other duties as assigned. May be required to work overtime based on business need, may be required to float to other departments (within the scope of competency and qualifications) based on business need, may be required to be placed on-call based on business needs.
