Job Description:
This position is responsible for performing general housekeeping tasks to maintain the facility and associated buildings in a sanitary, safe, and attractive condition and to meet hospital and Joint Commission standards.
Position Details
- Lead Role - Maintains Supervisor Phone on the weekends to manage cleaning request assignments
- Full Time, 40 hours per week
- Pay Rate:Based on Experience ($17.68 - $22.99)
- Availability Needed:2pm - 10:30pm with rotating weekends

Essential Functions
- Clean and disinfect assigned areas using department cleaning procedures.
- Uses cleaning chemicals properly according to Joint Commission and OSHA standards.
- Understands procedures and properly disposes of infectious waste and trash.
- Handles and cleans up emergency spills per department guideline, Joint commission, and OSHA standards.
- Follows all infection prevention practices (i.e. proper cleaning and disinfection protocols and process, hand hygiene, standard & isolation precautions, as well as proper donning and doffing of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
- Maintains work and storage areas following established policy and procedures to ensure safety
Qualifications
- Demonstrated communication skills to include differentiating color-coded labels and/or chemicals as well as following written and/or verbal directions.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule when needed to meet the needs of the department.
- Demonstrated professional housekeeping experience. (Preferred)
Physical Requirements
- Ongoing need for employee to see and read information, labels, monitors, identify equipment and supplies, and be able to assess customer needs
- Frequent interactions with customers require employee to communicate as well as understand spoken information, alarms, needs, and issues quickly and accurately
- Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy. This includes frequent computer, phone, and cable set-up and use
- Expected to lift and utilize full range of movement to transport, pull, and push equipment. Will also work on hands and knees and bend to set-up, troubleshoot, lift, and carry supplies and equipment. Typically includes items of varying weights, up to and including heavy items

JOB SUMMARYBasic scientists focus on high-level scientific research and development, investigative experiments, data analysis, and formal data presentation. This position may include the expectation of necessary skills to manage the day-to-day operations of the laboratory and its personnel.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES • Perform laboratory experiments and produce competent and reproducible results to a high technical standard • Devise research methods, prepare technical specifications, and specify laboratory test equipment and processes • Analyze data, and interpret and present results with minimal faculty supervision • Design experiments and implement and standardize new processes and procedures based on expert knowledge of literature and subject matter • Maintain detailed documentation and write formal scientific reports suitable for publication • Prepare and/or maintain samples and specimens • Manage laboratory personnel • Maintain and operate standard laboratory equipment, including centrifuges, pipetting machines, spectrometers, ELISA readers, as well as specialized equipment necessary to support the laboratory • Perform mathematical calculations and generate relevant statistics to support scientific output • Prepare materials suitable for institutional review of formal protocols and operating procedures with minimal faculty supervision TECHNICAL CAPABILITIESOur Academic Enterprise is one of the nation’s longest serving and most prestigious academic medical centers. Continuously observes, documents, and reports the cardiac rhythm status of patients monitored by telemetry. Performs general clerical duties by accurately preparing, compiling and maintaining the records for the Unit. Serves as the communication center for the nursing unit. Maintains cleanliness and order of the nursing station. Assists with reports and chart audits as assigned. Precepts and orients new Monitor Technicians and Registered Nurses to the telemetry monitors and protocols.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

2. Completion of Cardiac Rhythm Interpretation class or completed upon hire.

1. Observes cardiac monitors, documents and analyzes rhythm strips. Recognize dysrhythmias and ST&T wave changes. Notifies appropriate nurse of any changes.
2. Assists with the initial placement of telemetry leads as needed.
3. Greets new patients and their families; assisting new patients to their room and bed as needed. Greets and assists visitors, chaplains, volunteers, etc. as necessary.
4. Initiates and maintains daily telemetry charges. Responsible for care and location of all the telemetry transmitters
5. Accurately transcribes physicians’ orders according to hospital policy. Alerts nursing staff of new or urgent orders promptly
6. Completes clerical work on admissions, transfers, discharges and prepares discharge charts to be taken to the Health Information Department
7. Maintains charts during all phases of a patient’s hospital stay, including replenishing forms.
8. Forwards physician’s order sheet to pharmacy noting needed medications
9. Completes orders accurately and forwards to departments via order communications, (Lab, X-ray, Respiratory Therapy, Physical Therapy, Dietary and Maintenance) and with requisitions as needed.
10. Answers incoming telephone calls in a courteous professional manner identifying the unit and self
11. Assists with the admission of new patients.
12. Obtains needed supplies from SPD, Purchasing, Pharmacy, lab and Linen as needed; assists in location of equipment and supplies
13. Serves as the communication center for the nursing unit by answering telephones, initiating calls and relaying communications. Answers telephones promptly and courteously and identifying self by name and title

We are looking to hire a Surgical Technician, CST.
The Surgical Technician is responsible for preparing the operating room for the surgical procedure including the instruments, equipment, and supplies. They must maintain the sterile field during the surgical procedure. Will scrub more general cases which may include general surgery, gynecology, urology, podiatry, and plastics. May also be 2nd, 3rd or 4th scrub in all surgical specialties. Schedule:
- Full-time, 40 hours per week.

General Requirements:
- Graduate of an accredited school of surgical technology; completion of surgical tech apprenticeship or military program.

- CST certification preferred but not required in Iowa. CST certification is required if working in Illinois. LPN license is required if you are a graduate of an LPN program.

Pay Range:
$42.00 - $42.00Operates radiopharmaceutical, computers, and scintillation detection equipment on a technical level not requiring constant supervision. Performs Nuclear medicine examinations under the direction of the Radiologist. Functions as Supervisor of a designated area at the direction of the Systems Supervisor and Manager. Operates nuclear medicine equipment to obtain diagnostic images or measurements of the radiopharmaceuticals distribution in the specified body areas and body products.
Essential Functions
- Prepares, administers and documents diagnostic doses of radiopharmaceuticals.
- Adheres to department radiation safety practices.
- Obtains medications, radiopharmaceuticals, or contrast materials as directed for administration by a licensed practitioner, authorized/certified technologist, or registered nurse.
- Obtains brief patient history and records all pertinent information on finished exams (i.e., dose information patient data, dates, views, etc.).
- Verifies the patient by checking identification armband and prepares patient for the procedure.
- Explains the procedure to the patient and parents/family member of the patients.
- Performs organ concentration and excretion measurements to provide diagnostic information of patient illness.
- Maintains an on-going self-study program to ensure competence and knowledge in new techniques or radiopharmaceuticals.
Physical Requirements
Requires strenuous physical effort while assisting patients from wheelchairs and stretchers. Handling equipment and monitoring supplies. Oral and written communication skills are required to interact with patients and hospital staff. Able to frequently stretch, bend, twist, squat or kneel in operating all radiographic equipment. Vision and hearing for distances of up to 20 feet is necessary. Will be required to carry weights up to 25 pounds. May be exposed to various physical conditions throughout the workday such as walking on hard surfaces, climbing stairs, and being near moving equipment. Able to adapt to changes in temperature and humidity. 50% of the work time is standing. 50% of the work time is operating computers, monitors, survey meters and other radiopharmaceutical preparations. All procedures or other job-related tasks involve an inherent potential for mucous -2- membrane or skin contact with blood, body fluids/tissues, or a potential for spills or splashes. Use of appropriate protective measures is required.
Education, Experience and Certifications
Successful completion of formal Nuclear Medicine Technology Program in an AMA Approved facility required. Registered by either the ARRT (N) or NMTCB, or, if candidate is a New Graduate, must be registry eligible and must be registered within 1 year of hire date. One year of direct patient care work experience preferred. BLS required.
