Responsibilities include:
* Restrain and handle cats and dogs
* Patient check-in & discharge
* Maintain clean dog ward, cat ward and transport area
* Assist full service veterinarians & surgeons
* Prep animals for surgery
* Prepare surgical packs (routinely clean surgical instruments)
* Keep prep area and techs at optimal functionality
* Inventory and keep organized assigned area and products
* Keep prep, surgery, full service, and exam rooms and wards clean
* Administer vaccines and medications
* Monitor animals under anesthesia; respond to irregularities appropriately
This position has no supervisory responsibilities, but will be expected to work independently with minimal supervision after initial training period.
This role will need to handle chemicals, bio-hazardous waste, and requires lifting up to 50 lbs. Candidates must be able to restrain difficult cats and sometimes large, unsocialized dogs without getting injured or endangering others.
Vet assistants in this position are expected to work 36-40 hours a week. This position is eligible for overtime. Schedule includes shifts between Monday - Friday 7am - 7pm and possibly Saturdays 8am - 12pm.
*Who is a good candidate?*

_*At least 2 years of veterinary assistant/tech experience required.*_
Experience as a vet assistant in a surgical setting preferred.
Experience as a vet assistant in a full service setting preferred.
Experience with canine and feline dental cleanings preferred.
Certified Rabies Vaccinator preferred.
Fear Free certified preferred.
Willingness to teach and to learn.
'Can-do' attitude and sense of humor required ... this is hard work - you gotta be able to smile while doing it!

A high school diploma or GED equivalent is required.
All candidates are expected to pass pre-employment background checks and drug screen.

Full-time schedule: 4 shifts per week, 10 hours each
Focused on our supporting our Surgery Department in anesthesia and treatment
Opportunities to collaborate closely with board-certified specialists and cross-train in multiple areas
Here is What Your day May Consist of:
Performing animal nursing procedures, including restraint, postoperative care, catheterization, wound management, and bandaging.
Assisting veterinarians with medical and surgical procedures, including preparation, anesthesia administration, surgical monitoring, and recovery care.
Performing emergency and critical care nursing tasks such as CPR, fluid resuscitation, oxygen therapy, and blood transfusions.
Conducting diagnostic and laboratory procedures, including microbiology, cytology, hematology, serology, and urinalysis.
Managing clinical diagnostic tools for blood pressure, electrocardiography, oximetry, and imaging protocols.
Collecting and preparing specimens for laboratory evaluation and ensuring proper maintenance of lab equipment.
Maintaining accurate medical records in Instinct and utilizing our practice management software effectively.
Educating clients about their pet’s care, including follow-up treatments and prescribed medications.
Ensuring a clean, organized, and safe environment, including maintaining surgical materials and lab equipment.
Supporting a team-oriented approach by fostering positive relationships with coworkers and clients.
Here is What You Will Bring to the Position:
Education & Licensure:
Associate of Applied Science (AAS) in Veterinary Technology from an accredited program.
Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) in good standing in Virginia.
Experience:
Minimum 1 year of specialty veterinary experience preferred.
Personal Requirements:
Ability to handle stressed, ill, or injured animals with care and compassion.
Stays calm and professional in medical emergencies.
Strong communication skills and a team-oriented mindset.
Physically able to lift animals (over 40 lbs with assistance), stand for extended periods, and work in various physical positions.

The Denver Health Inpatient Operating Room is an 11-room, highly specialized surgical unit that provides 24/7 surgical care to patients with complex and high-acuity needs. Serving the community of Denver, the State of Colorado, and surrounding states, the unit supports a full spectrum of surgical services through continuous staffing, which minimizes the need for call while maintaining exceptional patient care.
Staffed by a highly experienced and skilled clinical team, the Inpatient OR specializes in a wide range of surgery services, including:

The nurse-to-patient ratio in the Inpatient OR is 1:1, ensuring highly personalized surgical care.

Job Summary
Under the close supervision of an RN, participates as a member of the perioperative nursing team by performing direct and indirect perioperative surgical technologist tasks for patients having pediatric, adult, and geriatric surgical and endoscopy procedures. Performs tasks related to picking supplies and equipment for surgical cases. Scrubs for minor/ major/ complex surgical procedures. Transports patients. May be assigned to work in the sterile processing department and/ or operating room as required. Under the close supervision of a qualified surgeon, the surgical technologist performs scrub duties during the surgical procedures (holding retractors and passing instrumentation). Performs technical tasks pursuant to Colorado Revised Statutes, Title 12, Article 43.2
Essential Functions :
General Operations
• Functions as a scrub tech for minor/ major/ complex surgical procedures; anticipates surgical team needs; appropriately maintains sterile field and sterile processes; pulls according to Preference Card; has appropriate instrumentation and supplies; facilitates room turnover.
• Performs surgical counts under supervision of the RN. Follows and consults other team members regarding departmental policies when the policy is in question.
• Maintains instrument sets, hospital trays, and clinic trays in a functioning order and according to the number of instruments on the inventory/ count sheets.
• Receives, sorts, stocks, decontaminates, cleans, examines, and sterilizes surgical items according to AORN, AMMI, Joint Commission, and ASHCSP recommended practices. Acts as a resource when collection and disposal questions and concerns are in question.
• Performs OR environmental maintenance duties relating to sterilization and storage areas.
• Confirms drug dosages and utilizes the “three checks” when receiving and passing medications on the sterile field with the RN and surgeon as required. Ensures appropriate labeling of medications on the sterile field. Completes occurrence form when medication error occurs.
• Performs transportation responsibilities when requested; transporting patients form one area to another; delivering laboratory specimens, blood products, medications and other hospital/ medical items to the requested departments as needed; and includes access to the pneumatic tube system to transport items, including blood products and medications, to and from the tube and the desired location.

Orders, accessions, statuses, and reports results of tests performed on patient specimens, monitoring a variety of critical clinical issues, such as patient identifiers, specimen quality, order appropriateness, etc. In this function, the lead must be able to read and understand a variety of written material such as specimen requisitions, worksheets, patient identification, specimen requirements, etc., whether performing this task manually (e.g., on paper) or using an information system. The physicist will provide radiation therapy physics and other support services as required by the Department of Radiology at Madigan Army Medical Center, Joint Base Lewis McChord. Clinical experience with total body photon irradiation (TBI), total skin electron irradiation (TSE); low dose rate (LDR) and high dose rate (HDR) brachytherapy modalities, intensity modulated radiotherapy (IMRT), image-guided radiotherapy (IGRT), stereotactic body radiation therapy (SBRT), stereotactic radiosurgery (SRS), and real-time position management (RPM).
The salary range (or hiring range) for this exempt position has been established at: $215,000. to $226,720. *Responsibilities:*

Shall have experience with Varian Aria, Eclipse, Pinnacle, Ray Station, and Varian Variseed treatment planning systems.
* Required to provide documentation certifying health requirements such as immunizations, annual vaccinations, medical testing, and physical examination when required.
* Currently proficient in clinical radiation therapy physics technology and other support services, demonstrated by active practice of at least 12 months within the last two years.
