Part Time working 10 Hour Shifts 7A - 5:30P with variable day off. Start time may flex up to an hour earlier/later depending on case. Call is one weeknight per week and every 9th weekend.
Pay Range:
$26.55 - $39.85Major Responsibilities:- Provides for a clean, safe and efficient area conducive to optimal patient care. Utilizes aseptic surgical techniques in the preparation of materials, supplies and equipment for surgical procedures (e.g., assistance with gowning and gloving; preparation and draping of the surgical area; provision of a sterile field, instruments, suture and related materials; anticipation of the Surgeons' needs; passing of instruments and/or supplies; holding of retractors, observing and reporting possible breaks in aseptic technique; and assisting in maintaining a sterile, dry, unobstructed field).
- Performs all types of procedures and maintains basic knowledge of a variety of procedures.
- Ensures the environmental disinfection, safety and efficiency of the operating room. This includes setting up the room for each case including moving equipment (i.e., tables, cameras, microscopes, fracture table, and instrument pans), operating the various types of equipment used during operating room procedures, and returning equipment post procedure.
- Functions as a Second Assistant as necessary.
- Notifies appropriate staff of equipment and supply problems.
- Transports patients and/or equipment and supplies.
- Maintains a specialty cart or item, ensuring its completeness and availability. This includes checking the working condition of equipment, sterility, and sending damaged items out for repair.
- Performs various patient positioning and transporting duties, which require lifting and pushing/pulling, while utilizing proper technique.
- Must be able to demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served. Must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and possess the ability to assess data reflective of the patient's status and interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patient's requirements relative to his/her age-specific needs, and to provide the care needed as described in the department's policies and procedures. Age-specific information is developed further in the departmental job standards.
Licensure, Registration, and/or Certification Required:
- Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA) needs to be obtained within 6 months unless department leader has determined it is not required.
Education Required:
- Completion of an accredited or approved program in Surgical Technology.
Experience Required:
- No experience required.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required:
- Knowledge of aseptic surgical techniques used in the preparation of materials, supplies and equipment for various surgical procedures.
- Knowledge of various types of equipment used in the operating room.
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
- Basic computer proficiency.
- Certification Addendum
- Team members will maintain annual educational requirements for hospital based certifications (e.g. DNV, CARF or others).
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
- Must be able to withstand a very stressful and fast-paced environment.
- Must be able to:
- lift up to 50 lbs. from floor to waist.
- lift up to 20 lbs. over the head.
- carry up to 40 lbs. a reasonable distance.
- Must be able to:
- push/pull with 30 lbs. of force.
- perform a sliding transfer of 150 lbs. with a second person present.
- Required to use foot pedals on carts or machines.
- Exposed to the following hazards on a continuous basis: mechanical, electrical, chemical, radiation, blood and body fluids.
- Must have functional sight and hearing.
- Required to wear masks, gloves, goggles, and gowns.
- Must be able to sit, stand, walk, lift, squat, bend, reach above shoulders and twist frequently during work shift.
- Must be able to operate all equipment essential to performing the duties of the job.

Join the fabulous SPD team at Aurora BayCare Medical Center in Green Bay and become part of a rewarding and impactful position. We are currently recruiting for 72 hours per pay period (32/40) on 2nd shift. The schedule will be 230pm-11pm. Some weekends, holidays and overnight shifts. There will also be occasional travel to support the West and Kaukauna surgery Center's to cover vacations.
We do not require SPD Certification for our position.

SPD Techs have a critical role in preventing infection with tasks such as sterilizing, cleaning, processing, assembling, storing, and distributing medical supplies. This role will also handle soiled and contaminated items, so you need to be comfortable with handling. This is a very tactical position that requires strong attention to detail and will work behind the scenes. This position does not interact with patients. Previous SPD or healthcare experience is preferred. SPD Certification for this position is not required.
Major Responsibilities:
- Receives soiled and contaminated items in decontamination area. Sorts equipment, rinses as needed, places equipment through sonic tanks and washers, reassembles trays, performs safety checks, hangs and sorts instruments, wraps sets according to set policy, and wraps towels and basins appropriately.
- Sterilizes instruments and equipment using the aerator, gas sterilizer or steam sterilizer and operates glass dryer. Packages items in steri/peel as required. Performs quality assurance testing for all methods of sterilization to ensure sterility of supplies. Hand cleans miscellaneous instruments (Baxter pump, hypothermo units, etc.) and operates the cart cleaner.
- Ensures proper care and handling of high cost instrumentation and equipment to include items requiring special handling, laser instrumentation, orthopedic implants, cardiac assist devices, endoscopic and microscopic instrumentation.
- May build case carts according to procedure and physician preference as specified. File case cart sheets and requisitions, responds to Code 4s with defibrillator and back up supplies, maintains CPR annies, tests autoclaves with the tests according to procedure, and changes graphs as necessary.
- Checks incoming trays and follows up with departments as to missing instruments or parts.
- Takes immediate and appropriate action if a question of sterilizer failure occurs.
- Receives and records orders for supplies as requested by departments. Records accurate product number and assures all forms are correctly completed for proper billing. Marks, dates and stocks equipment, which may include returning to appropriate department on a timely basis.
- Opens and unpacks supply boxes, checking for damaged goods and number of items received. Reports any discrepancies to the supervisor. Performs credits for unused products returned, checks stock levels, copies supply sheets, checks carts for outdated supplies, and performs general cleaning of shelves.
- May performs various patient positioning and transporting duties, which require lifting and pushing/pulling, while utilizing proper technique.

Major Responsibilities:
- Performs and maintains competency in electroencephalograms, portable inpatient EEG's by applying suitable electrodes on predetermined positions on the patient's head, checking the performance of the electrodes, calibrating and adjusting the test apparatus and selecting both predetermined and special electrode combinations dependent on the individual case under study.
- Prepares patient for exam and performs exams and procedures. Gathers a comprehensive patient history, appropriate information from patient, patient's records and family members to include neurological symptomatology and medications. Explains test procedures to patient and family members.
- Performs procedures according to the laboratory standards and implements alternative methods and/or adjusts controls to obtain optimal recordings. This may include appropriate control setting changes on the equipment, use of extra electrodes, extra montages and use of activation procedures.

- Certification is required after hire as follows:Surgical Technologists who graduated from an accredited program must certify within one year of hire (may use either NBSTSA or NCCT certification).Surgical Technologists who have graduated from non-accredited programs or completed on-the-job or military training, need to certify as soon as possible. This can be done upon graduation or, according to the NCCT requirements, take beyond one year in order to meet worked hours (>6000) and case tracking requirements. Job Description:
Surgical Technologists perform various duties as a member of the surgical team to ensure a safe and successful operative procedure. This position functions under the supervision of a Registered Nurse and directly reports to Surgical Services management. 4. Assists in maintenance and care of specimens and prepares for laboratory analysis. Handles specimens, implants, dressings, soiled instruments, contaminated materials and sharps in accordance with established policy and recommended standards of practice
5. Assists with timely turnover of rooms, including clean up, replacement and restocking of supplies and equipment. Cares for instruments and equipment.

This position will support both locations - Tacoma and Silverdale
Position Summary
The Ophthalmic Photographer/Technician is responsible for performing high‑quality diagnostic imaging, clinical testing, and technical procedures to support Ophthalmology and Dermatology providers. This role also assists physicians during patient encounters, delivers patient education related to tests and treatments, and manages scheduling for outpatient procedures.Responsibilities
- You will ensure completion of all necessary consents and documents for the medical record, utilizing hospital-approved abbreviations and following hospital charting guidelines
- You will participate in all phases of education, maintenance of records, upgrading of policies, procedures, and skills
- You will schedule procedures for Ophthalmology and Dermatology
- You will gather initial health status of patients including vital signs and documents per policy
Requirements:
- Certification as a Certified Ophthalmic Technician or Certified Ophthalmic Assistant Certification must be maintained through continuing education
- Must obtain MA-R within 60 days of hire
- BLS - Basic Life Support (includes RQI) - American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- Minimum two (2) years of experience as a Certified Ophthalmic Technician or Certified Ophthalmic Assistant
- Pediatric experience preferred
