Assists with the provision of patient care under the supervision of a registered nurse or licensed practical nurse. Discharges duties in a responsible professional manner consistent with all standards of nursing care, hospital policies and procedures, and the current regulations governing nursing practice in the state.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND/OR LICENSURE:
1. High School Diploma or equivalent.
2. Obtain certification in Basic Life Support within 30 days of hire date.
3. Graduate of a nurse assistant or patient care technician training program OR completion of hospital based Patient Care Technician program within 30 days of hire OR current Nursing Student OR three (3) years of patient care tech experience.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
EXPERIENCE:
1. One (1) year of clinical experience.

1. Follows established plan of patient care.
2. Assists with the admission, transfer, discharge and transporting of all patients.
3. Implements patient safety measures including:
Assists patient in moving, sitting and ambulating.
Raises side rails as indicated.
Applies restraints under the direction of registered nurse.
Implements fall protocol under direction of registered nurse.
4. Collects and records vital signs as instructed by the nurse.
5. Provides measures to meet patients' comfort needs.
6. Collects and prepares specimens according to policy and procedure.
7. Administers care and treatments for patients as instructed by the nurse including, but not limited to:
Bathing (am/pm care)
Perineal, pre-operative, post-operative, and post-mortum care
Catheter care
Oral hygiene
Applies hot or cold compresses
Obtains T.P.R./Blood pressures
Obtains Intake and output
Ambulates patients
Turns and positions patients
Applies assistive devices
Traction set-up and application
Performs 12-lead EKG
Oral suctioning with yankers catheter
8. Performs basic routine duties every shift including:
Distributes fresh water
Disposes of soiled linen
Maintains clean and orderly unit
Maintains and stocks unit supplies
9. Practices clean and sterile technique in the delivery of patient care while maintaining Body Substance Isolation.
10. Gathers information relative to patient's status to identify the age specific needs of each patient and reports this to the nurse.
11. Maintains an understanding of treatment necessary for each patient and provides appropriate care based on their age specific needs and promotes maintenance or enhancement of the patient’s quality of life.
12. Performs food and nutritional duties including:
Distribution of snacks and supplements.
Maintains fluid restrictions.
Assists patients with meals and supplements as needed.
13. Keeps nurse informed about department activities or problems.
14. Establishes and maintains good rapport with hospital personnel, patients, and families.
15. Explains tasks to patients and provides emotional support to patient and family.
16. Attends and participates actively in a minimum of three staff meetings annually.
17. Responds to patient's signal light immediately; notifies nurse of patient problems.
18. Reports observations, requests and unusual signs and symptoms of patient to charge nurse or team leader immediately.
19. Supports and adheres to hospital and nursing policies and procedures.
20. Institutes emergency measures calmly and effectively.
21. Reports any safety or risk management problems to charge nurse or appropriate hospital personnel.
22. Documents technical skills performed, including observations, in the medical record.
23. Assists with preceptorship program when required.

Memorial Hermann seeks a supplemental Medical Technologist or MLT to support our Alvin Freestanding ER on nights.Schedule is 12 hour shifts on nights.
Must be ASCP/AMT MLS or ASCP/AMT MLT.
Position is responsible for performing various laboratory tests/procedures as assigned.
Job Description
Minimum Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s degree in biological science (Equivalency Required for Foreign Education)
Licenses/Certifications: Medical Technologist (ASCP) or Medical Technologist (AMT), Certified MLS (ASCP or ASCP-International), Certified CLS (ASCP), Certified MLS (ASCP or ASCP-International) CM or ASCP Certification Eligible
ASCP Certification Eligible:
Bachelor’s degree in biological science AND
Successful completion of a NAACLS accredited MLS program within the last 5 years; or
MLT(ASCP) certification and two years of full time acceptable laboratory experience in Blood Banking, Chemistry, Hematology, Microbiology, Immunology and Urinalysis/Body Fluids in the U.S., Canada or an accredited laboratory** within the last four years; or
CLA (ASCP) Certification and a bachelor’s degree in a biological science four years of full time acceptable experience in in Blood Banking, Chemistry, Hematology, Microbiology, Immunology and Urinalysis/Body Fluids in the U.S., Canada or an accredited laboratory** within the last eight years; or
Five years of full time acceptable clinical laboratory experience in Blood Banking, Chemistry, Hematology, Microbiology, Immunology and Urinalysis/Body Fluids in the U.S., Canada or an accredited laboratory** within the last ten years
Principal Accountabilities
Performs and documents test results, quality control, maintenance procedures and associated corrective actions according to policy/procedure.
Manages/performs other aspects of daily lab operations including collections, sample processing, results reporting/ distribution, personnel direction (as appropriate), and clerical duties as required to maintain efficient work flow, at a competent level and according to the age/needs of the patient/populations served, communicated special circumstances to appropriate personnel.
Interacts with hospital personnel, volunteers, physicians and patients as to specimens and orders coming into the Laboratory and/or reporting results out according to the policies and procedures of the Laboratory Services and with sensitivity to customer needs.
Complies with policies, procedures, and initiatives of laboratory services, the hospital and the system; understands, communicate and complies with standards and conditions set forth by various governmental and accrediting agencies including TJC, FDA, CAP, AABB, CMS, HCFA and CLIA.
Performs duties in a manner to promote quality patient care and customer service/ satisfaction, while promoting safety, cost efficiency, and a commitment to the PI process.
Ensures safe care to patients, staff and visitors; adheres to all Memorial Hermann policies, procedures, and standards within budgetary specifications including time management, supply management, productivity and quality of service.
Promotes individual professional growth and development by meeting requirements for mandatory/continuing education and skills competency; supports department-based goals which contribute to the success of the organization; serves as preceptor, mentor and resource to less experienced staff.

Memorial Hermann TMC seeks a PRN Med Tech or MLT to join our team. Will cover weekends and during the week as needed. 2nd and 3rd shift.Must be able to provide coverage at least 4 shifts per month. Flexibility to attend 3 days of orientation during the first week of employment.
Must be ASCP or AMT certified.

Principal Accountabilities

Position Summary
Trinity Health Oakland Hospital is seeking a skilled and patient-focused Endoscopy Technician to support our Endoscopy team. In this role, you will be responsible for the cleaning, testing, high-level disinfection, and proper storage of endoscopes and related equipment, while also assisting physicians and nursing staff during endoscopic procedures. The ideal candidate will have experience in endoscopy, strong technical skills, and a commitment to delivering exceptional patient care.
Key Responsibilities
- Clean, test, disinfect, and maintain endoscopes and procedural equipment according to manufacturer and regulatory guidelines.
- Perform leak testing and operate high-level disinfection equipment.
- Assist physicians and nursing staff during endoscopic and surgical procedures.
- Prepare and assemble equipment and supplies using proper sterile technique.
- Transport instruments to Central Sterile Processing for sterilization.
- Complete required quality, compliance, and equipment documentation.
- Assist with specimen collection, patient preparation, and basic bedside care under RN supervision.

About the Role
