$33.05 - $49.60The Program in Health Services Research at Wake Forest University School of Medicine is seeking a highly motivated Health Services Researcher / Research Data Analyst to join a multidisciplinary team conducting innovative research focused on healthcare policy, health services delivery, clinical interventions, and health equity.
This position offers the opportunity to contribute to studies that evaluate the effectiveness, value, and outcomes of healthcare programs and policies, with a strong emphasis on reducing health disparities and improving care for underserved populations. The successful candidate will collaborate with investigators across health services research, health economics, medicine, epidemiology, biostatistics, and population health on a diverse portfolio of federally and foundation-funded projects.
Research activities involve working with large administrative and clinical datasets, including Medicare, Medicaid, MarketScan, AHRQ, CDC data sources, and electronic health records. The role provides opportunities to apply advanced statistical and econometric methods to address high-impact questions related to healthcare delivery, quality, outcomes, utilization, and policy.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze large healthcare datasets using advanced quantitative methods.
- Support study design, data management, statistical analysis, and interpretation of findings.
- Conduct research using administrative claims, electronic health records, and national survey data.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary investigators on funded research projects.
- Contribute to scientific manuscripts, presentations, grant applications, and technical reports.
- Assist with the development and implementation of research protocols and analytic plans.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with healthcare claims, clinical datasets, or population health data.
- Proficiency in statistical software such as SAS, R, Stata, Python, or SQL.
- Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Interest in healthcare policy, health equity, and health outcomes research.
Physical Requirements
Work occurs in an office environment using office equipment (computers, copiers, etc.).- This position requires extended periods of sitting and working at the computer. Overtime will occasionally be necessary.
Education, Experience and Certifications
- Master's degree in health policy, Survey Research, Epidemiology, Sociology, Economics, or another health-related research field required.
- 3 years professional experience in public health or healthcare related field required.
- Experience working in observational research and utilizing computers and databases to conduct analyses and interpretation of evaluation and outcome studies required.

- Prepares reagents, maintains an adequate supply of materials for test procedures and manages inventory to effectively reduce departmental waste/expense.
- Exercises clinical judgment in assessing priorities while identifying, problem solving and offering solutions to test systems through the appropriate department channels, i.e. contacts hotline to troubleshoot with a specialist when necessary to resolve the issue or set-up service when appropriate.
- Assists with review and revision of procedures and documentation related to accreditation, adhering to all regulatory requirements for various authorities, including but not limited to CAP, TJC, OSHA.
- Maintains clear, real time communications shift-to-shift and with leadership regarding issues, concerns and problems which may affect patient care or the operation of the department.
- Participates in planning and implementing change through participation in staff meetings, task forces or projects.
- Participates in competency assessment program, where qualified.
Works in a fast-paced clinical environment. Works in an area which contains bio hazardous (infectious) materials along with chemical, fire, and mechanical hazards. Duties may involve standing, walking, stretching, stooping, bending and lifting light (20 pound) to moderately heavy (50 pound) loads.

$25.30 - $46.05Major Responsibilities:- Performs, evaluates, and monitors laboratory tests as authorized within established protocols, selecting and performing additional procedures when indicated. Monitors workflow and makes necessary adjustment to complete work in an appropriate time frame.
- Evaluates results for clinical significance, validity and appropriateness. Follows prescribed policy in the reporting and notification of test results.
- Performs and documents calibration, maintenance and repair of instruments and equipment. Recognizes indicators of test and/or instrument malfunction; evaluates and implements appropriate corrections.
- Performs, documents and reviews quality control and quality assurance for improvement according to established protocol. Evaluates quality control results and takes corrective action when indicated.
- Ascertains that specimens are properly labeled and suitable for testing. Collects specimens from newborn, pediatric, and adult patients according to established protocol.
- Provides general direction, training, competency review and technical l assistance to medical laboratory technicians, phlebotomists, and support staff. Assists in the development of education and training protocols; instructs students, residents and new team members as assigned.
- Assists in improving the quality and efficiency of laboratory procedures, policies, and processes. Ensures compliance with all accrediting agency standards, supporting CAP Regulatory requirements in an acute setting.
- Performs internal and external proficiency testing in the same manner as patient samples.
- Performs specialty testing in areas including transfusion services, microbiology, chemistry, hematology, histology, coagulation, and flow cytometry. Supports the disease specific accreditations of an institution by meeting turn- around time goals.
- Provides direct support and timely, accurate laboratory results for critical care departments such as the ED, ICU and OR during a high acuity patient event. This includes transfusion services, attending codes, performing testing on irretrievable samples, tissue grinding and gram stains, mass casualty procedures, and mass transfusion procedures.
- Must be able to demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served. Must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and possess the ability to assess data reflective of the patient's status and interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patient's requirements relative to his/her age-specific needs, and to provide the care needed as described in the department's policies and procedures. Age-specific information is developed further in the departmental job standards.
Licensure, Registration, and/or Certification Required:
- Medical Technologist (MT) certification issued by the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP), or
- Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) certification issued by the American Society for Clinical Pathology Board of Certification (ASCP BOC) needs to be obtained within 1 year, or
- Medical Technologist (MT) certification issued by the American Medical Technologists (AMT) needs to be obtained within 1 year.
Education Required:
- Bachelor's Degree in Clinical Laboratory Sciences.
- Bachelor's Degree in Medical Technology or related field.
Experience Required:

Job Description:
The Anesthesia Technician is a vital member of the Anesthesia Care Team, committed to ensuring safe and effective anesthetic experiences. This role encompasses a variety of technical responsibilities, including cleaning and calibrating anesthesia machines, stocking supplies, and monitoring equipment quality. The technician is also responsible for transporting patients and performing routine patient care tasks, while providing critical support during emergency situations. Additionally, the technician assists with machine turnover and procedure preparation and may be required to be on call as needed. Essential Functions
- Checks, calibrates, restocks, prepares, and maintains basic anesthesia equipment and supply carts across all areas supported by the anesthesia team.
- Ensures all equipment is properly sterilized and functioning according to standards.
- Assists with room turnover and prepares anesthesia equipment for subsequent procedures.
- Manages the collection, cleaning, and proper processing of contaminated anesthesia equipment following procedures.
- Disinfects and cleans anesthesia equipment, the surrounding environment, and instrumentation in accordance with the manufacturer's Instructions for Use (IFU).
- Transports patients, including low-acuity patients, ensuring safe and efficient movement to and from the operating room and other designated areas.
- Performs Point-of-Care testing, including conducting and maintaining quality control procedures, and sterilizes equipment using appropriate methods.

Maintains strict aseptic technique and a safe environment for patients and staff.

Demonstrates competence in care of specimens; follows procedure for care and handling of specimens.
Sets up cleaning room to perform activities. According to established instructions and aseptic techniques, performs high-level disinfection to clean and disinfect endoscopes and accessories. Performs basic maintenance of equipment, troubleshooting minor problems as appropriate, referring more complex repairs to the appropriate internal/external sources.
Tests disinfecting solutions daily to ensure effectiveness; adds or changes solutions as necessary.
Prepare and maintain equipment information for regulatory readiness
Assists in obtaining vital signs, point-of-care testing, ambulation, positioning of patients, and pre/post procedure care according to department procedure.

Job Profile:
- Applied Behavior Analysis skills.Implement behavior intervention plans designed by Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs) to support individuals with developmental disabilities. Conduct direct one-on-one therapy sessions with clients to teach and reinforce appropriate behaviors.
- Clinical Duties.Provide support in various settings, such as homes, schools, or community locations, to address diverse behavioral challenges. Document and maintain accurate records of client sessions, behavior plans, and progress notes in accordance with regulatory standards. Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team, including BCBAs, parents, and other professionals, to ensure a comprehensive and consistent approach to treatments. Participate in regular supervision and training sessions to enhance skills and stay updated on best practices in applied behavior analysis. Collect and analyze data on client progress, seeking guidance for adjustments from BCBA as necessary.
Minimum Requirements
- Hold a valid Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification within 60 days of hire.
- Completed a minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to demonstrate RBT job essentials
- Experience working with autism and related disabilities or behavioral challenges.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills for effective collaboration with clients, families, and team members.
