Pay Range:
$25.30 - $37.95Major Responsibilities:- Interprets physiological data from stress tests for determination of individualized exercise prescription. Plans and implements treatment programs based upon patient evaluation. Modifies exercise prescription based on cardiac symptomatology, signs and symptoms of exercise intolerance, or musculoskeletal, orthopedic, and/or accessory medical problems.
- Works with physicians to determine program eligibility, progress, and timing of progression to unmonitored home program or Phase III participation.
- Establishes and presents a coordinated health education program for patients on exercise and risk factor reduction. Participates in family and patient conferences as necessary and works closely with cardiologists, cardiac surgeons, physician assistants, and medical staff regarding patient physical status and rehabilitation program.
- Promotes referral to rehabilitation program by developing a sound working relationship with referral sources - physicians and nurses.
- Places electrodes on patient for various cardiac monitors and tests.
- Counsels patient in home activity and exercise programs and purchase of exercise equipment.
- Assists in the resolution of cardiac emergencies or symptoms of exercise intolerance. Assists the in-program planning and implementation.
- May serve as a mentor for staff working for certification by American College of Sports Medicine in Exercise Technologist or Specialist category. Serves as a hospital consultant in area of exercise physiology. Participates in appropriate professional organizations for personal development.
- Assists in monitoring outpatient cardiac rehabilitation exercise groups.
- Performs various patient positioning and transporting duties, which require lifting and pushing/pulling, while utilizing proper technique.
- Must be able to demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served. Must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and possess the ability to assess data reflective of the patient's status and interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patient's requirements relative to his/her age-specific needs, and to provide the care needed as described in the department's policies and procedures. Age-specific information is developed further in the departmental job standards.
Licensure, Registration, and/or Certification Required:
- Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA) needs to be obtained within 6 months unless department leader has determined it is not required.
Education Required:
- Bachelor's Degree in Exercise Physiology, or
- Bachelor's Degree in Kinesiology.
Experience Required:
- No experience required.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required:
- Must be able to make independent decisions and be able to deal with complex clinical situations as presented by many cardiac patients.
- Good communication skills and effective team functioning is required.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
- Must be able to sit, stand, walk, lift, squat, bend, twist, crawl, kneel, climb, and reach above shoulders at various times in each workday.
- Must be able to:
- lift up to 50 lbs. from floor to waist.
- lift up to 10 lbs. from waist to overhead.
- lift and carry up to 40 lbs. at waist height a reasonable distance.
- Must be able to:
- push/pull with 30 lbs. of force.
- perform a sliding transfer of 150 lbs. with a second person present.
- Must be able to use hands with fine manipulation when using computer keyboard and testing equipment.
- Must have functional vision, speech, and hearing.
- Potential for exposure to mechanical, electrical, and chemical hazards and therefore must be able to take precautions and wear protective clothing as necessary.
- May be exposed to blood or body fluids and thus appropriate protective clothing must be worn as necessary (gloves, mask, etc.).

Essential Functions
- Monitor Cardiac Rhythms: Continuously observe patient cardiac rhythms and ensure accurate ECG readings are maintained.
- Interpret ECG Data: Accurately interpret and report changes in ECG rhythms to the registered nurse promptly.
- Telemetry Equipment Management: Prepare, maintain, and clean telemetry equipment, including replacing batteries and ECG leads prior to patient admission and post-discharge.
- Documentation: Accurately document ECG data, including rate, rhythm, and interval measurements, in patient records to communicate ECG history for multidisciplinary review.
- Patient Tracking: Assist in tracking patient locations during off-monitor procedures, including those requiring transport to other departments, and ensure ECG rhythm visualization upon patient return.
- Crash Cart Maintenance: Implement crash cart checks as required by the facility at the beginning of each shift to ensure availability and functionality.
- Continuity of Care: Provide comprehensive patient ECG history to incoming monitor technicians to ensure seamless care transitions.
- Training and Mentorship: Assist in training new associates by sharing knowledge and skills related to telemetry monitoring and procedures.
- Admission/Discharge Log: Maintain admission and discharge logbooks to provide a backup database and support patient care continuity as required by the facility.

Physical Requirements
- Ongoing need for employee to see and read information, labels, assess patient needs, operate monitors, identify equipment and supplies.
- Frequent interactions with patient care providers, patients, and visitors that require employee to verbally communicate as well as hear and understand spoken information, alarms, needs, and issues quickly and accurately, particularly during emergency situations.
- Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy. This includes frequent computer use and typing for documenting patient care, accessing needed information, medication preparation, etc.
- Expected to lift and utilize full range of movement to transfer patients. Will also bend to retrieve, lift, and carry supplies and equipment. Typically includes items of varying weights, up to and including heavy items.
- Need to walk and assist with transporting/ambulating patients and obtaining and distributing supplies and equipment. This includes pushing/pulling gurneys and portable equipment, including heavy items. Often required to navigate crowded and busy rooms (full of equipment, power cords on the floor, etc.)
- May be expected to stand in a stationary position for an extended period of time.
- For roles requiring driving: Expected to drive a vehicle which requires sitting, seeing and reading signs, traffic signals, and other vehicles.

This position performs as an integral part of the OR team with limited supervision. Demonstrates accountability for operating room readiness ensuring sterile surgical instrumentation and disposable supplies are complete and ready for a procedure prior to the preceding patient leaving the operating room. Responsible for the proper care and handling of all general and specialty instrumentation including the cleaning, decontamination, disassemble/reassembly, quality assurance, instrument identification, set assembly, packaging, sterilization, and distribution of surgical instrumentation for PeriOp Services, hospital departments, and clinics. This position requires well manner communications and the ability to communicate effectively through reading, writing, and speaking in person.
CORE FUNCTIONS
1. Provides decontamination and sterile processing support to PeriOp Services, ED, ICU, hospital wide departments, and clinics both on and off campus, and ambulatory surgery centers. Provides various levels of service for the management of sterile surgical instrumentation and disposable patient care supplies. Support may-or-may-not include, decontamination of surgical instruments, assembly/sterilization, sterile instrument storage, partial or complete case cart support, OR core tech support and high-level disinfection.
2. Responsible for the decontamination, assembly, and packaging of surgical instruments following established protocols, instructions for use (IFU) as well as performs required quality assurance, repairs, reassembly, documentation, sterility handling, and storage of specialized surgical instruments. Maintains required sterilization logs and quality assurance records relating to all equipment associated for the purpose of decontamination, HLD disinfection, and sterilization.
3. Ability to identify interpret the surgical schedule and medical terminology as it pertains to procedures requiring sterile surgical instrumentation and disposable supplies. Able to address and communicate special needs to minimize delays to surgery. Responds to emergent calls from the Operating Room and performs preliminary investigations. Determines priority level of instrumentation requests and other hospital needs. Directs services in a competent and professional manner while assuring OR priorities are completed in a timely manner
4. Able to differentiate surgical instrumentation that is surgery owned, consignment/loaner, hospital depart, surgeon, ambulatory surgery center, and clinics both on and off campus. Completes necessary tracking of surgical instruments with a paper log sheet or computer process for instrumentation leaving the area. Reports needed replacement of surgical instruments to maintain the inventory and support readiness of sets.
5. Utilizes specialized equipment for the decontamination, high-level disinfection, and sterilization of surgical instrumentation according to the device and equipment manufacturer’s recommendations and hospital policy. Operates steam and hydrogen peroxide sterilizers of various sizes. Operates automated surgical instrument washers, ultrasonics, flush pumps, visualization devices, and cart washers to include high-level disinfectors where supported.
6. Operates various quality assurance testing equipment associated to flexible endoscopic scopes, transesophageal ultrasound probes, and electro-surgical insulation defect detector for laparoscopic and energy provided surgical instrumentation. Utilizes heat detection devices to allow steam sterilized surgical instrumentation to be released for use without risking burns to staff and patients. Operates demagnetizers of stainless-steel instruments for ophthalmic and delicate cardiac surgical instrumentation for safe use on patients. Utilizes various borescope devices to inspect inner channels of lumened surgical instrumentation and flexible scopes.
7. Maintains a clean and safe environment by adhering to Standard Precautions and Infection Control practices. Staff follow protocols for proper donning of personnel protective equipment (PPE) while completing the decontamination process referencing IFU’s supplied by the manufacturers.
8. Maintain flexibility to rotate shifts and adjust hours as needed, maintain a work record of regular attendance, timely arrivals, and departures, maintain professional appearance appropriate to position and function.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma/GED or equivalent working knowledge.
Minimum one (1) year experience as a Sterile Processing Technician OR certified as an SPD Technician (CSPDT) or Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) with less than one year of experience.
Must have mechanical aptitude with the ability to break down moving parts, clean, lubricate and reassemble, problem solve incomplete trays and missing instrumentation and have effective organizational, communication and human relation skills.

POSITION SUMMARY
This position coordinates a smooth patient flow process by answering phones, scheduling patient appointments, providing registration of patient and insurance information, obtaining required signatures following established processes, procedures and standards. 5. Schedules office visits and procedures within the medical practice(s) and external practices as necessary. Maximizes reimbursement by scheduling patients in accordance with payor plan provisions. Confirms patient appointments for the following day as necessary and ensures patients are properly prepared for visits.
6. Demonstrates proactive interpersonal communications skills while dealing with patient concerns through telephone calls, emails and in-person conversations. Optimizes patient flow by using effective customer service/communication skills by communicating to internal and external customers, care team, management, centralized services and HIMS.

The Medical Laboratory Assistant II has responsibility for the processing, organizing, labeling, and transporting of specimens for laboratory testing. As an experienced and fully competent laboratory assistant, performs advanced functions such as phlebotomy and/or section-specific specialty tasks and serves as a role model and preceptor for other staff. Duties include the input and extraction of data from the Laboratory Information System as well as clerical tasks such as answering phones and filing documents.

- Receives, triages, orders, labels and transports specimens for laboratory testing. Processes specimens, aliquots, and/or slides/blocks according to procedure for samples tested in the laboratory as well as samples forwarded to referral laboratories. Handles STAT samples expeditiously. Assists pathologist and/or other laboratory personnel with specimen grossing as needed.
- Recognizes problems (such as mislabels, incorrect tube type, etc.), identifies causes, and takes corrective action to solve basic problems.
- Operates automated instrumentation as applicable at entity following all safety measures. Performs and documents any processing equipment maintenance.
- Performs one or more of the following advanced functions: • Pre-Analytic: In an outpatient and inpatient setting, performs phlebotomy and other specialized specimen collection procedures for patients; maintains competency of techniques and principles required to perform quality phlebotomy services • Specialty Areas (i.e., Anatomical Pathology, Microbiology, Molecular, etc.): Performs advanced functions such as assisting with frozen sections, special stain procedures, cytology processing, fine needle aspirations (FNAs), and other section specific specialty tasks as per section scope.

Principal Accountabilities

Position Summary
Under the direction of the department supervisor, the Nuclear Medicine Technologist oversees the daily flow of patients through the department and coordinates daily exam assignments. Performs nuclear medicine procedures at a technical level requiring minimal supervision of technical details.
Performs a variety of technical procedures requiring independent judgment, ingenuity, and initiative in the application of prescribed ionizing radiation and other forms of energy. Assumes responsibility for designated areas or procedures as assigned.
Responsibilities
- Maintains accurate records and documentation related to individual patient cases.
- Obtains patient histories and other relevant information and coordinates communication with the radiologist and other members of the healthcare team as needed.
- Provides patient immobilization as required and follows prescribed radiation safety standards.
- Continuously monitors patients throughout examinations.
- Assists the radiologist with examinations and invasive procedures as needed.
- Effectively utilizes EPIC for documentation and patient care activities.
- Assists in ensuring all completed studies are assigned to a radiologist by the end of the shift.

The Medical Technologist performs and evaluates test results, develops and modifies procedures, and works with laboratory director to establish programs to ensure the accuracy of test results. Performs laboratory testing in accordance to turnaround time policy to aid physician in timely treatment of patients.

- Performs general housekeeping duties to keep work areas safe from contamination and physical hazards
- Continuous cooperation with co-workers and other hospital departments to ensure our customers are VERY SATISFIED
- Performs instrument maintenance and troubleshooting activities in areas of demonstrated competency
- Takes initiative to update procedure manuals as changes are required
- Demonstrates Coaching, Mentoring, and Education capabilities with all of the following disciplines: MT, MLT, Medical Student, Phlebotomist, and Laboratory assistant
- Actively participates and supports co-workers participating in Community Cares initiatives
- Works with students and other interested persons to promote the clinical laboratory profession
