The jump from clinical rotations to a real patient chair is bigger than anyone tells you. You know the material, but speed, judgment, and the words to say to a nervous patient only come with reps and the right people around you. That's exactly what we've built for new hygienists here. We've onboarded several new grads before you. We know where the gaps are, and we've built the system to close them, without rushing you.
\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_
Position Overview This New Graduate Dental Hygienist role focuses on:
* A structured runway (about 30 days) to transition from school pace to private-practice pace
* Dedicated assistant support paired with you early on to help you find your rhythm faster
* Direct access to a hygiene team with 20–30 years of combined experience
* Regular team meetings where hygienists diagnose and problem-solve cases together
* Coaching on patient communication and "the words to use," not just clinical technique
* A high-feedback culture, you'll always know exactly how you're doing and what to work on next
\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_Why This Role Is Different
* We don't expect a finished product on day one, we built a system to grow you into one
* You're paired with an assistant specifically to help new hygienists become productive faster
* You're never diagnosing alone, the team meets regularly to work through cases together
* You'll get real coaching on how to talk to anxious patients, not just how to treat them
* We've done this before. Several new grads have come through this exact onboarding process
* Modern digital workflow (Dentrix Ascend, iTero, Overjet AI diagnostics, CEREC) means less guesswork while you're building speed
\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_
Key Responsibilities Clinical Care (with mentorship as you ramp up)
* Perform hygiene appointments, prophylaxis, SRP, and periodontal therapy
* Conduct initial mouth screenings and review oral health history
* Identify conditions like gingivitis, caries, and periodontitis
* Clean and protect patients' teeth: remove plaque, apply fluoride, SDF, and sealants
* Take X-rays and dental impressions
* Assist dentists in selecting appropriate treatment, including oral cancer screening
Patient Experience & Documentation
* Put patients at ease before you even start, many walk in anxious
* Educate patients of all ages on proper home care by demonstrating technique
* Give clear post-op instructions after procedures
* Maintain accurate documentation and charting in Dentrix Ascend
* Sterilize instruments and turn over the operatory properly between patients
* Schedule the next visit before the patient leaves the chair
\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_
Who Thrives in This Role You would be a strong fit if you:
* Recently graduated (or are within your first couple years) and want to build real clinical confidence
* Are coachable, you want feedback and you actually use it
* Are hungry to learn and not afraid to ask questions
* Care about connecting with patients, not just executing technique
* Want to be part of a team, not figuring it out solo No private-practice experience required. We built this role for you.
\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_
Qualifications
* Diploma/degree in Dental Hygiene, recent graduates welcome
* Valid Colorado dental hygiene license (or eligible pending board exam results)
* No prior private-practice experience required
* Strong communication skills and a genuine willingness to learn
* Attention to detail and stamina to meet the physical demands of the job Bilingual (English/Spanish) strongly preferred.
\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_
Compensation & Growth
* $55–$80 per hour, with room to grow as your speed and clinical confidence building
* Performance reviews with raise potential
* Structured mentorship and onboarding, you're not left to figure it out alone
* Full-time or part-time schedule available

We’re looking for a dental hygienist who wants to enjoy where they work.
At Altitude Family Dental, we’ve built a busy, well-established practice around great patient care, a supportive team, and a work environment where people are treated well. We want our hygienists to have the time, tools, and support they need to provide excellent care without feeling like they’re simply moving patients through a schedule.
We’re looking for a hygienist who enjoys building relationships with patients, takes pride in their clinical skills, and appreciates being part of a team that works together and helps each other out. Whether you’re an experienced hygienist or newer to the profession, we care more about finding the right person for our team than checking every box on a résumé.
We have both part-time and full-time opportunities available and are happy to discuss a schedule that works well for the right candidate.
If you’re looking for a practice where you can do great dentistry, get to know your patients, work with people you enjoy, and feel valued as part of the team, we’d love to meet you.

* Perform thorough dental cleanings and examinations to assess patients' oral health.
* Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and the importance of regular dental visits.

* Review documentation for accuracy and completeness in patient records.
* Assist in pediatric dentistry, providing care tailored to younger patients.
* Maintain compliance with HIPAA regulations to protect patient confidentiality.
* Implement infection control protocols to ensure a safe clinical environment.
* Collaborate with dentists and other staff members to enhance patient care.
*Skills*
* Proficient in aseptic technique and infection control practices.
* Strong understanding of anatomy related to dental health.
* Familiarity with documentation review processes in a clinical setting.
* Ability to take vital signs accurately and efficiently.
* Excellent interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with patients and team members.
Join our team as a Dental Hygienist, where you will play a crucial role in promoting oral health and enhancing the patient experience within our practice. We look forward to welcoming an enthusiastic professional who is eager to make a difference in the lives of our patients!
