Ochsner LSU Health System – Monroe Medical Center & LSU Health Sciences Center is seeking an experienced and motivated leader for Medical Director of Hospital Medicine within the Department of Medicine at LSU Health Shreveport, an integrated teaching hospital and health system in partnership with Ochsner Health. Position would include clinical work as a hospitalist, publishing the schedule for faculty hospitalists, creating/tracking/incentivizing quality metrics for the hospital medicine program. Responsibilities would also involve teaching house staff and medical students, ensuring learner evaluation completion, annual performance evaluations on all hospitalists. The position would include the role of Director of Quality overseeing the hospital’s quality of care and leading quality improvement initiatives.
Qualifications:
- Board certification or eligibility in Internal Medicine or Hospital Medicine by ABIM or Family Medicine.
- Academic experience preferred but not required.
- Five years’ experience as a hospitalist.
- Excellent skills with regard to clinical medicine, leadership, communication, teaching.
- Demonstrated knowledge of effective strategies for working with faculty, staff, and students from a variety of backgrounds and perspectives.
- A forward-thinking, collaborative leadership style that promotes growth through faculty recruitment, community engagement, and development of innovative clinical programs.
- Faculty rank for this position will be Assistant Professor or higher. Rank, tenure status and salary will be commensurate with selected candidate’s qualifications and experience.

The Department of Emergency Medicine at Ochsner Medical Center in New Orleans, Louisiana is a well-established department that sees 75,000+ visits/year as a tertiary referral center for the larger Ochsner Health System. The department welcomed its first class of Emergency Medicine Residents in 2020 and also has seen continued rapid growth in the clinical enterprise. The Emergency Medicine Service Line is the 2020-2021 Outstanding Clinical Service Line for the Ochsner Health System. The department is currently recruiting for more Academic Faculty positions at Ochsner Medical Center Main Campus as we continue to expand. We are searching for American Board of Emergency Medicine or American Osteopathic Board of Emergency Medicine certified/eligible physicians, preferably with fellowship/additional niche training and a passion for residency education, who can further grow the diversity of excellence within the academic department. We are particularly seeking physicians who are fellowship trained with experience in Simulation, EMS, Ultrasound, as well as those with experience in Quality and Patient Safety and Operations as we continue to develop these divisions and roles within our department. Education and Experience:

Credentialed and willing to maintain clinical practice
Job Duties
Examine the health of a patient to help make proper diagnosis of clinical conditions and prescribing medication, treatments, and follow-up care as required.
Prescribes pharmaceuticals, other medications, and treatment regimens to treat identified and documented medical conditions
Provide care directly and indirectly by working with other members of an interdisciplinary team to formulate treatment plans.
Timely record patient encounters in Electronic Health Record
Request further medical evaluations and make referrals, as necessary.
Understand and commit to the highest standards of professionalism; willingness to hold others to those standards.
Commit to collaboration with all members of the department to provide quality patient care.
Ensure accurate coding of all patient visits.
Comply with policies, procedures, bylaws, processes of privileging/credentialing, and standards of care that are conducive to the provision of high-quality medical services consistent with accreditation standards, state and federal licensure or regulations, Medicare, Medicaid, and other regulations, guidelines, requirements, and statutes as applicable.

Job Duties: Examine and diagnose diseases and disorders of the musculoskeletal system and immune system. Consult with patients to determine appropriate course of treatment. Recommend and orders tests to determine extent of illness and to aid diagnoses. Maintain completed medical records. Ochsner Medical Center in New Orleans, Louisiana, is recruiting a BC/BE Pulmonary/Critical Care Physician to join an expanding team.Candidates must be board certified or board eligible in Internal Medicine and Pulmonary Medicine. - 32 bed ICU managed by the Department of Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine.
- Practice settings include busy inpatient critical care and pulmonary services, along with a thriving referral clinic.

- In addition to teaching responsibilities, there is the opportunity to develop subspecialty referral practices in asthma, interventional pulmonary, thoracic oncology, pulmonary hypertension, pulmonary fibrosis, and other end stage lung diseases.
- Section members regularly collaborate with the pulmonary departments at both local medical schools in clinical research, including NIH-funded activities in ARDS and IPF. Faculty appointments are possible for qualified candidates.
