Position Overview
Ad Astra Urgent Care Veterinary Clinic is seeking a dedicated, compassionate Full-Time
Veterinarian to join our growing urgent care team. Our clinic focuses exclusively on non-life-threatening urgent care cases, providing local accessible evening care for pets with issues such as vomiting/diarrhea, skin and ear infections, minor wounds, lacerations, limping, mild respiratory signs, and other same-day concerns.
Job Responsibilities
Clinical Care
● Provide high-quality urgent care for dogs and cats presenting with non-critical conditions.
● Perform diagnostics including radiography, cytology, point-of-care ultrasound, and
laboratory interpretation.
● Develop and communicate treatment plans clearly to clients and staff.
● Perform minor procedures such as laceration repairs, abscess management, sedation
for wound care, and other non-emergency interventions.
● Maintain a calm, solutions-focused approach in a walk-in urgent care environment.
Medical Documentation
● Produce clear, concise, and thorough medical records for every patient.
● Ensure documentation supports seamless transfer of care back to the patient’s primary
veterinarian the following morning.
● Communicate case summaries and recommendations in a professional, collaborative
manner.
Team Collaboration
● Work closely with veterinary technicians, assistants, and the clinic manager to maintain
efficient patient flow.
● Provide guidance and support to medical support staff during treatments and
procedures.
● Foster a positive, respectful, and communicative team culture.
After-Hours Expectations
● Remain reachable by phone after the end of the shift (1am) for the overnight technician if
veterinary oversight is needed.
● Provide remote guidance for stable hospitalized patients.
● No physical return to the clinic is required.
● Any patient that becomes critical or requires direct veterinary management will be
transferred to a 24-hour emergency hospital.
Qualifications
● Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM/VMD) degree from an accredited institution.
● Active Kansas veterinary license (or ability to obtain).
● Strong communication skills with both clients and team members.
● Confidence in managing common urgent care presentations.
● Ability to work independently with support staff.
● Commitment to accurate, timely medical documentation.

Position Summary
Katie’s Way is seeking a *part-time Psychiatrist (MD or DO)* to join our clinical team serving our *Manhattan and Junction City, Kansas* locations.
The Psychiatrist will provide outpatient psychiatric evaluation, diagnosis, treatment planning, and medication management while working collaboratively with psychiatric nurse practitioners, therapists, clinical support staff, and organizational leadership.
We are looking for a psychiatrist who values collaboration, clinical excellence, patient-centered care, and the opportunity to make a meaningful impact within the communities we serve.
Key Responsibilities
* Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and diagnostic assessments.
* Diagnose and treat a broad range of behavioral and mental health conditions.
* Develop individualized, evidence-based treatment plans.
* Prescribe, monitor, and manage psychiatric medications.
* Monitor patient response to treatment and make appropriate adjustments to the treatment plan.
* Collaborate with therapists, psychiatric providers, primary care providers, and other members of the patient's care team.
* Provide clinical consultation and guidance when appropriate.
* Maintain timely, accurate, and complete clinical documentation in the electronic health record.
* Follow applicable federal and state laws, professional standards, HIPAA requirements, and Katie’s Way policies and procedures.

Qualifications
*Required:*
* Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) from an accredited medical school.
* Completion of an accredited Psychiatry residency program.
* Current or eligibility for an unrestricted Kansas medical license.
* Current DEA registration or eligibility to obtain DEA registration.
* Board Certified or Board Eligible in Psychiatry.
* Ability to prescribe and manage psychiatric medications in accordance with applicable federal and Kansas requirements.
* Strong clinical judgment, communication, and interpersonal skills.
* Commitment to collaborative and evidence-based behavioral healthcare.
*Preferred:*
* Board certification in Psychiatry.
* Experience in outpatient behavioral health.
* Experience treating military service members, veterans, and/or military families.
* Experience treating conditions including depression, anxiety disorders, PTSD, ADHD, and other common psychiatric conditions.
* Experience working within an interdisciplinary behavioral health team.
* Familiarity with TRICARE and military-connected patient populations.
Schedule
This is a *part-time position*. Specific days and hours may be discussed based on organizational needs and candidate availability.
The position will support Katie’s Way services in *Manhattan and Junction City, Kansas*.

The Advanced Practice Provider (APP) in the Emergency Department (ED) manages health problems and coordinates health care in the ED setting. These APPs deliver patient care and medical services to individuals, families and groups by utilizing standards of care in accordance with State and Federal rules and regulations to assess health status, diagnose medical conditions, develop medical plan of care, implement treatments and evaluate patient responses in collaboration with collaborative/sponsoring physician as described in a Collaborative Practice Agreement.Responsibilities and Essential Job Functions- Able to evaluate medical problems of patients who present to the ED and appropriately requests consultation of other specialties when indicated.
- Provides education to patients and/or families about preventive care, medical issues and use of prescribed medical treatments and/or medications.
- Creates diagnostically appropriate treatment plans
- Documents all medical evaluation, diagnoses, procedures, treatments, outcomes, education, referrals and consultations consistent with NCQA, The Joint Commission, state regulatory standards and evidenced-based standards of care. Maintains documentation compliance for appropriate coding and billing.
- Facilitates evaluation of records by physician(s), peers and quality standards according to protocols and receives and implements constructive directives.
- May refer complex and high priority cases to collaborating physician with regards to complicated diagnostic problems, serious illness, complicated therapeutic problems and re-evaluation of chronic conditions.
- Provides medical and emergency interventions appropriate to the client’s needs; prescribes and monitors medications appropriate to the diagnosis; orders and monitors the appropriateness of emergency interventions.
- Maintains collegiality with all members of the inter-disciplinary team
- Utilizes appropriate chain-of-command and communicates with ED Program Director, APP Director and Medical Director of any clinical issue and contributes to quality improvement or process improvement as necessary.
- Must be able to perform the professional, clinical and or technical competencies of the assigned unit or department.

The Division of Allergy, Clinical Immunology, and Rheumatology offers a collegial and well-supported practice environment with 22 physicians and 2 Advanced Practice Providers. Physicians are supported by dedicated nursing staff, including 1:1 RN support, multiple LPNs and Medical Assistants, and four clinical PharmDs. Additional resources include two infusion therapy units, a fully integrated clinical trials program, and access to musculoskeletal ultrasound. Candidates will also be able to provide formal educational instruction by consistently attending and presenting at key Internal Medicine and Infectious Diseases conferences including but not limited to Core Curriculum, Case Conference, Journal Club, Patient Safety, Clinical Pathological Conferences and Antimicrobial Stewardship and will provide specialty content updates emphasizing pathophysiology, clinical and diagnostic principles and emerging therapeutic interventions.

The University of Kansas Health System, Division of Allergy, Clinical Immunology, and Rheumatology is seeking a full-time Allergist/Clinical Immunologist to join our growing team in Kansas City. This is an outstanding opportunity to build a rewarding clinical practice within a highly collaborative academic environment that supports excellence in patient care, teaching, research, and professional development.
The Division includes both Allergy/Clinical Immunology and Rheumatology faculty, offering a strong foundation of clinical expertise and collegial support, including 1:1 RN support for each physician, multiple LPNs and MAs, and access to clinical PharmDs.
Position Highlights
- Established Allergy, Asthma, and Clinical Immunology practice with a diverse patient population
- Dedicated allergy testing and immunotherapy services with experienced clinical support staff
- Opportunities to develop subspecialty clinical interests, including severe asthma, primary immunodeficiency, food allergy, drug allergy, eosinophilic disorders, and urticaria
- Access to a fully supported Clinical Trials Unit with opportunities for clinical research participation
- The Division supports ACGME-accredited fellowship programs that train 4 Allergy/Immunology fellows and 6 Rheumatology fellows

Required Qualifications
- MD, DO, or equivalent
- Board certified/board eligible in Allergy and Immunology
- Eligible for medical licensure in Kansas and Missouri
