*Position Summary*
Al-Zoubaidi Vein & Vascular Center of Southern Illinois is a leading healthcare provider dedicated to providing exceptional patient care. We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate *Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)* to join our dynamic vascular surgery team. In this role, you will provide high-quality outpatient care for patients managing arterial and venous conditions (such as peripheral artery disease, aneurysms, and varicose veins). You will serve as a vital link between patients and our surgical team, ensuring a smooth, safe, and efficient clinical workflow. This is a full time position.
*Key Responsibilities*
*Patient Assessment & Preparation:*
* Take and record vital signs, height, weight, current medications, and chief complaints.
* Prepare patients for physical examinations and minor in-office procedures, ensuring comfort and proper positioning.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and demanding environment.
* Ability to handle stress and make quick decisions under pressure
*Clinical & Procedural Support:*
* Assist vascular surgeons and team during endovascular and vein procedures.
* Perform specialized wound care, change surgical dressings, and monitor healing progress.
* Administer prescribed oral, topical, and injectable medications or immunizations under provider direction.
* Assist team with preoperative and postoperative patient care.
* Collaborate with other members of the surgical team to ensure a smooth and efficient surgical process.
* Assist all providers during clinic on non-surgical days
*Patient Education:*
* Provide post-procedure care instructions and lifestyle management education to patients and families.
* *Reinforce education regarding vascular disease management, compression therapy, and prescribed medications.*
* Documentation & Administration:
* *Accurately document all patient assessments, interventions, and communications in the Electronic Health Record (EHR) system in a timely manner.*
* Handle patient inquiries, process medication refill requests, and communicate lab or diagnostic test results as directed.
* Clinic Maintenance:
* *Maintain clean, safe, and fully stocked exam and treatment rooms.*
* *Sterilize and prepare reusable surgical instruments and medical equipment.*
*Qualifications & Requirements*
* *Education: Graduate of an accredited practical nursing program.*
* *Licensure/Certification:*
* *Current, active LPN license in the state.*
* Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (American Heart Association preferred).
* Experience:
* *Minimum of 1–2 years of clinical nursing experience preferred*
* Familiarity with vascular conditions, surgical wound care, and sterile technique is a strong plus.
*Skills:*
* *Strong foundational knowledge of anatomy, medical terminology, and pharmacology.*
* Proficiency with Electronic Health Records (EHR).
* Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
* Ability to remain organized, empathetic, and calm in a fast-paced environment.
