Availability days are Monday - Thursday
Join our efficient and fun dental team as a Dental Hygienist. This energetic position offers the opportunity to work in a collaborative environment where your skills in dental hygiene, patient assessment, and infection control are valued and utilized to their fullest. As a key member of our dental practice, you will help create positive patient experiences while ensuring adherence to the highest standards of safety and professionalism. This office is family focused, locally-owned (non-corporate) and has two locations (Pandora and Leipsic Ohio).
* Perform comprehensive dental cleanings, including scaling, polishing, and fluoride treatments to maintain optimal oral health.
* Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical histories, vital signs, and dental charts to develop personalized care plans.
* Apply dental sealants and aid the Doctor in anesthetizing patients.
* Take dental imaging such as X-rays, ensuring proper positioning and safety protocols.
* Educate patients on oral hygiene practices, treatment options, and post-procedure care to foster informed decision-making.
* Maintain accurate documentation of patient records, treatment notes, and medical histories in electronic health record (Dentrix).
* Follow infection control protocols using aseptic techniques to prevent cross-contamination and ensure a sterile environment.
* Monitor vital signs and recognize signs of medical emergencies or complications during appointments.
* Uphold HIPAA regulations by safeguarding patient confidentiality at all times.
* Valid Dental Hygienist license in accordance with state regulations (1 year min. preferred).
* Proven experience working in a dental office or clinic setting with familiarity in EMR systems - Dentrix (will train if needed).
* Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control practices, and medical terminology.
* Experience with all ages preferred.
* Ability to perform chairside assisting efficiently while maintaining excellent patient care.
* Competence in taking medical images and reviewing documentation for accuracy.
* Excellent communication skills to educate patients effectively and collaborate with team members.
